𖤐 I lowkey wrote this at 3 am so this is probably so out of character for literally all of them but fuck it we ball
I gave my "Sad Boi Hours" to one of my favorite characters that comfort me greatly and the rest of the crew just goof off to cheer them up, and it works in the end yay! 𖤐

The morning was calm and quiet, just kidding it was as loud as it usually was.
Toon Vee was zooming, Toon Shelly and Modern Shelly were half asleep dino talking over mint chocolate waffles, Shanon was laughing at their sleepily incorrect dinosaur facts- it was their normal, their happy, morning normal.
Except someone was missing.
That someone being the Modern still curled up on the couch, clinging to Limeade like she owned him- and cherished him as much as his real owner did. Her screen stuffed into the back couch cushion, body in as tiny of a ball as it could be, blankets draped over her dramatically and hiding nearly her entire body. She was seemingly still out cold, just tucked away, somehow squeezing herself onto one couch cushion-
That wasn't very normal of her.
She usually was up by now, either chasing down the zoomier of all time or chugging orange juice in the kitchen while trying to wake up enough to figure out her left from her right again, not sleeping in all tucked away from society, not buried away and hiding like she was a wanted criminal. Especially not staying mostly still when Toon Vee did want her and started shaking her shoulder gently, attempting to get her up to play or do anything.
The most she got was mumbled nonsense from the other that morning.
That wasn't normal.
"Uhm... Ma... I think we need momma." Toon Vee called out, rushing right over to Shanon and soon tugging on her shirt gently, resulting in her soon being held in one arm by the human as she worked on making breakfast with the other. Currently making scrambled eggs.
"What's wrong lil Vee?"
"Big sissy isn't moving..." Toon Vee stated bluntly, making Modern Shelly choke on her waffle for a second.
"MODERN VEE DIED?!"
"Wh- NO?? SHE'S NOT GETTING UP!!" Toon Vee explained, making the now wide awake Modern sigh in relief as she rubbed her eyes.
"Oh you mean she's being lazy in bed today... Oh goodness that was a wake up call..." Modern Shelly mumbled, not even flinching when Toon Shelly reached over and patted her face clean of choked up waffle. That was just their normal, just the Toon's way of showing love, even if it was quite an odd experience pfft
Hours later, Modern Vee still hadn't moved, but the other trio had. They were all sitting nearby, waiting, but not showing it.
"Uno." Modern Shelly stated as she gently set down a blue card, grinning as she looked over at the Toon beside her, who just gasped and wagged her cute little dino tail as she smiled up at her big sister.
"You're really good at this!" Toon Shelly complimented, while Toon Vee looked over at Modern Vee, oblivious that it was her turn currently. She was obviously really worried, obviously knowing that something wasn't quite okay there, but not at all knowing what to do about it. She very slowly and carefully reached over and patted her head, right between her antenna, right where Modern Vee had always patted her own head when she was having her own off day. The Modern just shifted a little, let out a small whimper, then went back to being as still as ever. Modern Shelly glanced over, though she just gently pulled the worried little toon close to her side and rubbed her arm gently.
"She's okay, I promise you, she'll be okay honey."
"I miss her..." Toon Vee mumbled as she dramatically flopped against the other, tucking herself close as she put down a card that didn't even work with the game they were playing. Toon Shelly didn't even say anything, she just continued the game of Uno like nothing ever happened, like they always did.
"I miss her too, but sometimes, you just need to be a grouchy little ball of blanket on the couch for a while, so let's leave her be." Modern Shelly softly told her, pulling the very obviously upset Toon just a little closer to herself afterwards. Toon Vee just sighed, pouting as she crossed her arms.
"When she gets up I'm throwing her in the toaster..."
"She's twice as heavy as you are, Toon Vee."
"I don't care I'm throwing her in the toaster for making me worry about her so much!"
The Uno game soon ended with Toon Vee putting down a queen of spades card from a deck of cards none of them even knew they had, the fossils looking at each other funny because they had no idea what game they were playing anymore, and Toon Vee looking about ready to have a temper tantrum. Modern Vee still hadn't budged, even though she now had a small stack of waffles on the side of her head, which the Toons had stacked on there hours before in an attempt to get her to at least eat something.
More time passed, the two Shellys now had put Dorkus in his travel bowl and were positioning it amongst the growing fern population in Shanon's home, the two taking pictures of the floating grape of a fish, Gi now sitting amongst them- thoughtfully blubbing to the fish, who blubbed right back. A conversation was happening, yet nobody knew what a single word was being said. Vivi was sitting with her sister, gently making beaded stars as she talked to the Toon, who was now sitting on the couch behind her and staring deep at the Modern in thought. Modern Vee had only budged once, but she was back to being a little ball, now covered in several blankets and had one of Toon Vee's sunhats placed over the waffles stacked on the side of her monitor.
Classy.
The front door soon opened and the crowd all immediately looked at who it was, Toon Vee finally smiling for the first time since she found Modern Vee being a brick on the couch, the robot immediately getting up and running right into the human's arms.
"Hello Vee, great to see you too, baby."
Modern Vee finally perked up a little at the familiar voice, her antenna raising as she slowly lifted her head to look at the other.
There stood Veronica, in her classy black long coat, hair a fluffy mess, shy smile plastered on her face as she gave her toon baby a hug and kiss on the head.
"Mama..?"
"Do you need mom time too, Miss Vee?" Veronica softly spoke as she looked at the Modern, very carefully setting down the very hyperactive Toon down as she watched the other nod slowly.
Within minutes, Veronica was on the couch, arms full of the six foot tall robot and blankets. Modern Vee had now become a little ball of fluffy blanket on her lap, having somehow made herself turn into a little ball just small enough to fit on her human mom's lap. She had her head resting on her shoulder, a juice box of apple juice in he hands, a little piece of waffle in her mouth.
She looked finally cozy, and she soon was smiling for the first time that day, even more so when Vivi had gently placed a yellow, orange and green star on her knees.
"It's based off of pineapples!" She happily explained, her tail wagging. "Cuz your favorite pot is that pineapple one with the tiny cactus in it, I remembered it!"
"Can a girl have one day of being a sad mope for no reason?" Modern Vee half jokingly asked, laughing a tiny squeaky laugh when Vivi just shook her head and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
"Nope, not with us around."
"Where'd that confidence come from, kid?"
"Good question..." Vivi murmured, rubbing her arm awkwardly as she quickly glanced away, "I just wanted to make you feel better..."
Modern Vee sighed at that, snuggling just a little deeper into Veronica, closing her eyes at the soft kiss on the head she got from her mom.
"It's definitely working..." She murmured, clinging to her juice just a little tighter as she opened her eyes again, glancing at Toon Vee as she struck a pose with her Modern counterparts sunglasses on her face- which definitely were way too big for her. The Shellys were laughing as they took pictures of her. Modern Vee couldn't help but smile even more at it.
"Toon Magic is definitely real..."
"It always has been real, they never have made a depression day possible for us, trust me." Veronica admitted with a soft laugh, pulling the Modern just a little closer. Modern Vee just nodded as she closed her eyes again, not even flinching when Vivi started comparing shades of green beads to her digital features- knowing all too well she was just working on yet another star just for her.
Just to make her feel better.
Even though she honestly felt so much better surrounded by the ones who genuinely loved her for her and showed her all the love in the world, even if she was just a sad lump on the couch that day.
"They really don't make it possible, but I wouldn't change a single thing about any of this for the world."
They justify their fanon inventions by saying that everyone interprets canon differently, which is true to an extent, but there is this thing called evidence, and when the written evidence contradicts your headcanon, then it's not a valid interpretation anymore; it's a fantasy created by your head.
Interpreting canon differently is, for example, me believing that Ginny Weasley was a low-key pick-me girl who loved not being like other girls and clearly had a problem with needing male validation, evident in her constant attempts to act like one of the guys, be friends with guys, and make typical guy jokes, while unfairly mocking traditionally feminine women like Fleur for no reason. Meanwhile, you might not see the character that way and simply view her as a bad-tempered girl who needed to mature. That’s having different views on canon.
It’s about relying on canon: the characters’ actions, canonical moments, and from there, forming a theory about them.
What isn’t “interpreting canon” is basically taking a bunch of names from the books and slapping them onto your OCs who have absolutely nothing to do with those characters. If it weren’t for the names, you wouldn’t even recognize them because they don’t even retain their physical traits, let alone anything else.
okay so you know how when you start a new blog, you have to build up your often used/suggested tags? and how Tumblr just suggests tags you follow until you’ve posted for a bit??
yeahhh that absolutely sucks because none of my followed tags relate to my hall of fame blog/this blog… like AT ALL lmao
