I'm just saying, Jester has been angling for a handsome drow to be her bff since episode 13. She deserves it!
Oh man.
I just watched Father's Day for, I don't know, the sixth? seventh? eighth? time in the last year and a half.
I knew exactly what was going to happen, and it was still beautiful and heartbreaking and excellent.
It was a coherent, linear story with a beginning, middle and end. Actions had consequences. Things were at stake. People had believable emotions. And although it turned out okay in the end, things weren't magically perfect. Pete Tyler still had to die. And stay dead.
Eccleston's Doctor had gravitas and humor. He lashed out in anger and frustration, but was able to apologize and forgive. He was, above all, kind
Hats off to him for his acting. Hats off to Piper, Coduri, Dingwall, and the rest of the cast. Hats off to Russell T. Davies. Hats off to Joe Ahearne. Hats off to Paul Cornell.
Why can't Doctor Who be like that again?
