One of the essays rolling around in my head to write is the exploration of the idea that philosophies + religions of restraint, suppression, +/or detachment are historically born out of + rise through collective cultural traumas (this can be mapped) + continue to attract the traumatized, who seek to assuage feelings of uncertainty + discomfort - the distress fuelled by a deep mistrust in the self + others - through attempts at "mastery" to control + dominate the triggers - passion, desire, sorrow, envy, grief (linking rather neatly into PTSD/C-PTSD avoidance behaviors).

+ of course to then argue that the better answers, in my view, are found within paths of integration, of total aliveness - Camus's defiance; Kieregaard's leap of faith; Carl Roger's organismic trust; theories of self-actualization; Schwartz's Internal Family Systems Model; + even the Enneagram journey toward a unified self through understanding, compassion + trust.

#anyway maybe i shld get a medium or something for essays?#i am so far out of the loop on where people put these sorts of writings #i am here to throw tomatoes and eggs #the root of suffering is not our humanness but our inability to trust ourselves to survive it #we fear the collapse of loss and strong emotion and so snuff out our ability to experience openly all we were given the capacity to feel #which inversely kills joy #and creativity #and starves connection #as one of the traumatized ppl at the center of this i have the same drives and impulses against vulnerability etc and must always #and very actively #strive against #as it has proven only ever to shrink myself

#but life has been so suffocating #and loneliness is too #ive been going through this depressive episode for weeks now and it’s extremely annoying #i’ve also been on this app for years and years but now that i have an actual account with a following where i post it’s somehow lonelier #i’m losing inspiration #and creativity #i’m self critical and it’s at an all time high #im not proud of any works or ideas and it’s so discouraging #being on here feels very lonely #but so does being offline #and i feel like i can’t win
