you all really need to stop taking people saying everybody hates new trek seriously, if it was badly received, they'd not have made six new shows. It's absurd.
Especially the fuss over starfleet academy. The show took an open stance over the moral abhorrence of ripping children away from their parents and the entire arc of the season is going to be about reuniting the now grown child with his mother.
If you Can't see why a small yet very loud group of people who cry utter murder at being told that this is reprehensible and evil are saying that the entire franchise has gone to shit, then I don't think anybody can help you.
