Mysterylover Watches BNHA Episode 94: “Momo vs Kendo”

1. We resume with the MomoKendo fight and the Invasion of the Mushrooms. Mushroom girl is animated now. 

2. Kendo is by far the best Team Leader in all of Class A. I like the animations, BTW, that they’re using to showcase her plan. This season is being very playful so far.

3. It feels like they’re adding some contemplative moments. Definitely pacing this episode out very carefully and deliberately.

4. MOMO VS KENDO IT’S ON!! Man look at em go! Finally moving and battling and everything. Oh man.

5. Hm, also the additional punch barrage is an interesting choice, since in the manga Kendo just crushed it right away. PLus the sports fest flashbacks

6. OOH and now the boyfriends. Fanboying over Momo and Kendo. Todo and Tetsu. OOH AND ADDING IN FLASHBACKS TO MOMO AND SHOTO VS AIZAWA TOO!?!? OMG THE’YRE TREATING US.

7. Like WOW. Not just Todo complimenting Momo but a FULL ON FLASHBACK to show like half the fight with Aizawa. They really wanna take their time with this. 

8. Damn and the music’s getting intense. Momo’s still feeling insecure and motivated to JUMP IN. Love it. 

9. And all the Shoto close-ups as he compliments her. And Momo looking badass and smirking. LOVE IT.

10. LOL Aoyama’s hero name out loud. Anyway back to Momo and Kendo’s fight reaching its climax.

11. Momo of course shows off how great she is again. I’m mostly happy but also having emotional flash-forwards/backs to future events.

12. I STARE INTO THE ABYSS AND THE ABYSS STARES BACK LOL Tokoyami.

13. Just as an aside Tokoyami and Momo’s dynamic is pretty underrated, seeing as how he’s connected with her arc and she’s his teammate and bandmate.

14. Tooru vs Manga is animated in a pretty whacky way. They’re probably trying to have some playful fun with the animation while they can. Bones knows how angsty things are about to get.

15. And this one ends with team Kendo winning. I know at least one A team had to lose to keep up the suspense, but it’s too bad it was Momo’s. Interestingly, she doesn’t fall apart over this loss like the last one. (it’s almost like something happened that changed her outlook).

16. Anyway. We dwell on some super shippy moments between Komori and Fukidashi, and Momo and Kendo. They’re really taking the Joint Training Arc slow aren’t they. Speaking of ships, next week we get some BKDK, and end this one on TDMM again. As I pointed out in my post on this arc, it has all the best ships.

17. They try really hard to end the ep where Class A loses on a hopeful note.

thanks, that means a lot honestly, it’s just that they’re so hot and cold with me that one moment they’re laughing at my jokes and chatting with me and i believe they genuinely enjoy my company, and the next they pull something like this or plan a weekend together while i just sit there and it just wipes off all the good we had a while ago and does just WONDERS to my self-esteem.

one of them will talk to me to keep a snap streak alive but i don’t think they’ll even acknowledge me in the summer. i know i don’t talk to people and i’ve never said this to them bc i don’t want to be whiny and maybe they just think i don’t want to spend time with them because i don’t go to parties, but they’ve invited me to movies twice in these six years i’ve known them and i’ve gone both times so what gives.

so i can’t even be angry at them, i’m just left here like what did i do wrong now, maybe i should just never speak to anyone ever again so this won’t happen, maybe i should just shut up and leave and not annoy anyone else. which SUCKS bc these are the only people i can consider friends outside the internet and i love them, but also they’ve known each other since like kindergarten (or if they haven’t, have gotten a lot closer during these six years than i have to them) and i am always outside and i feel like such a failure for not being able to build the simplest of human relationships
