obviously, the trope in this fic (adult meets infant soulmate ala renesme) has to be done veryyyy delicately, and this writer did an absolutely incredible job. i'm on chapter 50 right now, naruto is the legal adult age, and kakashi is still like i....don't think you're ready yet, pump the brakes kid while naruto is being naruto so like, all gas, no brakes lol. so have no concerns whatsoever about that trope being icky when done poorly because it's done so incredibly in this fic.
