okay but if the gladers made up an elementary (like grade 3-4/ ages 8-9) school classroom, the teacher would quit within the first week:
thomas is the kid who reads at an eighth grade level and never shuts up about it, and also spends every class letting himself be distracted by minho— but he never fails a test.
chuck is that one younger kid who weirdly bonds with the older kids and the one that the teachers worry about.
frypan is the kid with the good snacks that everyone steals from him. he also gets in trouble 24/7 for eating in class.
minho is the one who banters with the teacher and tries hard to make everyone laugh, and when he can't do that he's throwing things at his friends and passing notes to thomas and newt.
gally is the kid that everyone is scared of except for one or two people who actually know him (frypan and newt). also hes still got the pesky temper and is ABSOLUTELY the kid who throws a chair once a semester. also he and minho ALWAYS get in spats and are known well by the principal.
brenda is the kid who chases her classmates around outside and tackles them full on, then gets annoyed when they cry.
newt is the kid who loves everything about writing/reading but despises every other subject. the teacher probably has a soft spot for him. he also doodles all over his work when he's bored— and not real doodles but just scribbles and swear words.
winston is that one kid who cant share for the life of him. like ever. and he has the BEST crayons too.
zart is the kid who comes in from recess covered head to toe in mud/grass. he also always tries to sneak in worms and slugs.
teresa is the one who reminds the teacher about the homework, but also gives everyone answers (if she likes them). she also has a tendency to seek out the older students who pick on the younger ones, and chase them off in the hallways.
alby is the kid who always gets in fights with the older grades, and pretty much only hangs out with older kids as well— aside from newt and minho (he doesnt like thomas).
clint's the one who always has some scrape or scratch that no one (not even him) knows where he got it.
ben always brings pungent-smelling food for lunch. he is also the kid who eats crayons (including one of winstons, starting a brawl).
and jorge is the gym teacher and everyones favourite teacher. ava paige is the principal. janson is the vice principal and EVERYONE (including staff) hates his guts.
