Goth Cas in a sassy pose bcs why not
I'm not answering anons about that girl or her "facts" about the promotion of season 2. Especially if you're racist enough to use the phrase "making it about race". And POC can be racist especially against Black people. Even Black people can be antiblack.
The thing she is trying to say is that examples of the show being promoted at all mean that IWTV and TVL were promoted the same amount, which isn't true. It's just a silencing and gaslighting tactic. Nobody said "IWTV was never promoted at all". And she purposefully ONLY listed the promo that they both did (IWTV and TVL) and skipped the promo that has only been happening since TVL started promoting.
And no, I'm not talking about stuff like the concert. Obviously, Louis wasn't going to do a rock concert in 2024. This is the other thing. Y'all talk to people like they're stupid.
The thing is, I'm going to be honest with you, the moment you say something racist, I stop reading. Your friend took my "stop gaslighting Black fans about this" and said that Black fans were gaslighting the fandom about this issue. Which is, quite frankly, racist. So, I'm not listening to anything else she has to say unless it leads with "I'm sorry for being racist and insensitive about it. I just don't want people to hate TVL".
Because that's all this is. You all are afraid of any critique going towards the show. It's foolish. You're right, I'm not going to read anything from someone who is exhibiting antiblack racism. Why would I subject myself to reading racist blather?
All its going to be is "I'm not racist, I'm a person of color, too!" And then a list of promotion that IWTV did.
That I didn't miss, by the way. I've been watching the show since it premiered. I watch all the stuff about the show, and have seen most of it multiple times. I never said there was no IWTV promo in Times Square, for instance (which.... like, as someone who lived in New York, is pretty standard for TV shows. Most networks have an office right there, so a lot of them use those big screens to show what coming shows are.)
I certainly never said they didn't do cons. Everyone does cons, though? Like... y'all don't see my username? Y'all think I don't know about the cons? I've seen every panel they've done, and I was here for the controversy where some fans got banned because someone lied and said they were unsafe to be around Sam Reid. I've seen every Autumn Brown interview.
I'm not talking about things like cons and youtubers. Or the podcast. It's the paid promo that is different. Very different.
So, like, a show will typically do a promo tour, and there's like a certain amount that's standard. Then, if the studio or network wants to promote it more, they do extra stuff, like pay for features. (I know it seems like I'm not being honest, but I used to write for one of the online entertainment magazines, so I've seen both sides of it. There were things we had to write about because it was promoted to us/paid. And things we wanted to write about had to be pitched, and our editors could decide that it wasn't worth it.)
Interestingly, I was writing there ahead of the first season of IWTV and I don't remember is getting a promo push for it. There were several shows like that. But I can tell that they did get a promo push for TVL because u still follow the one I used to write for and the others under the same parent company, and there are a ton of articles. That means AMC paid for the spots. I'm glad they did. I love TVL and I love Sam Reid and I want people to watch it.
But at the same time, I can look at it and see that this is more than was done before. Naturally, you're going to be able to compile a list of everything that AMC did to promote IWTV s1&2. And you're going to be able to match it to TVL promo stuff. But you're also going to leave out what's extra and then say gaslighting things like "oh, were they supposed to do a concert and use the Sphere?" Because it makes the argument that TVL is getting more promo sound like the ramblings of a crazy person, which... omg, is exactly what gaslighting is! Making someone feel like they're crazy for saying something valid.
Multiple things can be true at once. The show is getting more promo now. The promo that the show is getting makes sense for the direction that the show is going in. They could have done a better job promoting IWTV. They see Lestat/ Sam as more mainstream and bankable for obvious reasons. That is implicit bias. I still like the show and want it to succeed.
When it lands Emmy noms this year, I'll be happy and I'll be side eyeing. But mostly I'll be happy. But I'll also have you guys look at the "Best Actor in a Drama Series" history. And then "Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series". And tell me what you notice.
I might have a shit attitude, I might be mean, I might rant, I might go a bit nuts. But I'll never tell you a lie.
Show us the fits
I hate it when they draw or write Vlad as a good person who cares about Danny and who has achieved redemption. I'm not going to give reasons, I just hate him and think he doesn't deserve anything good.
Blah blah blah blah but make it destiel
