Idea Generation Techniques Among Creative Professionals
According to this paper, you’ll be happy to know that we can now classify mindless scrolling on tumblr and taking a step back from actively working on creative pursuits as:
Incubating (stepping back from active work on the problem to let the subconscious mind work)
Passive Searching (looking through stuff without anything particular in mind, hoping for inspiration)
and
Socializing (talking with other people about anything other than your creative problem, in the hopes that new ideas will emerge)

I graduated college and I'm gonna b 22 next month and it feels.... really really weird
I am aware that I do not have many moots, but I wonder if anyone can help me looking for a post I thought I'd saved but hadn't. It started with someone opining about the social expectation to hang out with your coworkers when they found it draining, and ended up in a useful blow-by-blow ruleset for how to maintain friendly relations and not be branded an outsider while also keeping sufficient space for decompression in the workplace. Any ideas? @dorian-they? It feels like the kind of thing you might've shared? I can't figure out how to search for things on this cursed webbed site.
Vent ahead.
One of my absolute pet peeves is when I tell someone I don't have time to do something and they forget what I said or just completely ignore me.
I am incredibly sensitive when it comes to time management and am super selfish when it comes to free time because I KNOW I need it to replenish my batteries. I love my friends and some of them need my support more than ever, but I'm on the verge of a mental collapse and just can't accept the fact that I'm not allowed a moment to myself.
And that's what's bothering me. I know I should say no. And I keep saying no. And I feel like an ass doing so. But fucking hell did I go out of my comfort zone and limitations these two months.
Fuck. I just don't wanna do this anymore. I need to move out asap. I need to get back on my feet. I need other people in my life to fucking stop judging me and my workplace. It's hard for me as it is to keep it all together. And I've had enough with people constantly pitying me!!!
