I finished Dragon Age 2 yesterday ‼️
This is how Hawke got with Anders.
I had this sketch lying around and finally got to colour it a bit I love them so much I finished the game and I'm unwell ;______;
I have been thinking about Anders again 🙏 praying for him in the new game, so excited to play!
Redraw of my old Anders from two years ago here!
So maybe it's just me overanalyzing something that is already very known in the fandom, but I can't stop thinking about how both Anders and Fenris have lost their names and were given new ones in the places of their abuse.
Fenris has no memory nor connection to Leto, so his past name is not his identity.
Anders, however, could technically use his original name, but he chooses not to.
He hides it from the beginning and just accepts the one he's eventually given, because the child with this old name died when he was handcuffed and torn away from his home.
I was unable to find why was he dubbed the Ander exactly, since he was born and raised in Ferelden, and even his father had moved there in his childhood. But basically he's bearing the name that is the heritage from his father, who was the very person to give him to the templars.
But it also sort of reminds me of a stray cat that keeps showing around and finally someone calls it Tabby or Mouser, or something equally vague related to the general description of the cat, and then I think about fancy little names Anders gives to cats, and it's probably nothing important but I'm having the opposite of good time.
he is risen
I started this as a cosplay prop about eight years ago. A few scraps of parchment, a fake manifesto to carry as Anders.
At first I only meant to make it look real. Then I tried to make it sound real.
Now, it’s no longer just a prop — it’s a dissertation on mage rights, Chantry hypocrisy, and systemic oppression disguised as faith.
Anders was right. He has always been right.
I hate him
