Lolololol so when he said he doesn’t do office romance at the start, he was just messing with her xD
Not only did the joke fail but it got thrown back at him lololol

spoilers from the free first episode under the cut
Shintaro Ando: In Demand until Main Story
Okay, my more serious thoughts of this route (but I can’t help if I’m gushing here too since I just love him so much!). And spoilers, yes.
Like I had been to many other newer Voltage games, I was skeptical toward When Destiny Comes Knocking. None of the guys appealed to me from the start. But the presence of the In Demand route piqued my interest so I tried the prologue and yeah, I loved it ^^ For one, I loved Takatomi Jinguji. The priest/bar owner was just too funny and dramatic and I can’t stop laughing whenever he’s around that at one point I wondered if he ever gets a route of his own, I would really want to know how it would play out! And then, I loved the comical expressions--especially on Jinguji’s--that they never or rarely used before. And then, Shintaro Ando appeared and I fell in love with him immediately.
Good thing the In Demand route was free so I binge read it in one day (since it was only free for one more day) and I loved Shintaro even more. Even then we can see how caring he is. Yeah he’s funny and snarky and I loved that too. But what stole my heart was how honest he seemed compared to everyone else, and how sweet he was being when he gave those oranges to her and offered to walk her home. And I knew that he likes her. Or, at the very least, he pays a lot of attention to her. He’s her senior, her senpai, and she might have started as a favorite junior, but he knows she likes oranges and he likes seeing her happy and he goes out of his way to bring over some from home and he goes out of his way to buy a famous takoyaki for her. He likes her, and when he realizes that she’s just moved to the neighborhood, I don’t know if it’s just me (or maybe it is just me) but I can just imagine him being happy at the prospect that they might be able to walk home together without seeming suspicious.
In the Main Story, we find our love rival: Nozomu. I quite like him, enough that I may want to try his route. But the thing is, I already love Shintaro so much that he’s my OTP in this game. In every game I always try to find my OTP--the best guy that I will most probably read his entire route. Mostly, the routes I love are where the guys and the MC seem like friends outside of their romantic relationship. This is why I love Yamato, Takuto, and Tsumugu because to me, they don’t just love each other romantically, but they are also each other’s best friends. Just as my mom always said to me: find a life partner that will become your best friend for life. And Shintaro perfectly captures that. I don’t know about the other routes, but I feel like they won’t be like that.
Character-wise, Shintaro is one of the best characters Voltage made. He is sweet and kind and funny and I just love him so much! And he loves animals!! And has a pet parrot lol. Jinguji is second best character^^ because, as I’ve said, he’s just too funny and awesome! I quite like MC. She’s not a favorite but I really like her. Well, your typical shoujo heroine that will always try to do her best, and she doesn’t whine so much, just occasionally. Also, her friends are also great!
Story-wise, I really liked it. Maybe not as much as others. The main conflict was: Shintaro didn’t want any office romance. Thing is, I knew he liked her, but then he said that, and I questioned myself, and then later there were instances where it was clear he held feelings for her and I couldn’t understand him at all! The reason was revealed later, involving something that happened in his past--as we could’ve guessed. The climax didn’t really hit me since it was suddenly over just like that. But still, MC’s journey throughout the story was great and I could understand her torn feelings when it involved one of her best friends and knowing Shintaro would never reciprocate her feelings. It was a great read nonetheless, and the interactions between Shintaro and MC were just awesome! I loved their friendship and I loved how Shintaro was just so sweet to MC.
Reading Shintaro's route never ceases to make me laugh lololol xD
I am dying here! It’s already halfway through the third week of March and there’s still no sign on Shintaro’s POV!!! I want his POV!!! Even after a week, I’m still in Shintaro withdrawal syndrome >_< !! and they’ve already released Kobayakawa’s POV when it was supposed to be scheduled for next week >_< I’ve been checking the app every day! hoping I might come across it before the notification arrived (like how I found out the release of Shintaro’s main route last week) gaaahhh when was the last time I love a Voltage character this much >_<
The way he is caring and considerate and kind makes he seem like the big brother type but at the same time he doesn't seem like the big brother type. I don't know know if that makes sense. The big brother types are usually so protective and Shintaro... is not. Is he the nice guy? The funny guy? Lol well whatever shoujo trope category he falls in, Shintaro is Shintaro and I love the guy^^
