Cushing as Holmes in The Hound of the Baskervilles (1959)
Biblically accurate Holmes.
Peter Cushing as Sherlock Holmes and André Morell as Dr. Watson in "The Hound of the Baskervilles" (1959)
I am once again here to preach about Cash on Demand. If y'all like seeing Peter Cushing a) in a strangely homoerotic situationship with his opponent b) stressed the fuck out, this is the movie for you. It's also just a delightfully tense movie and it's FREE ON YOUTUBE.
Vancula fans, I fear his counterpart is not Christopher Lee this time, but Andre Morell is a damn good substitute. His character is sleazy as hell, a perfect gentleman and just plain delighted to see Cushing's character miserable. Hound of the Baskervilles fans, good news! It's Sherlock and Watson :) Except Watson is engaging in psychological warfare against Sherlock.
I'm watching "Cash on Demand," which stars Peter Cushing as a stuffy bank manager being bullied by André Morell (who plays Watson opposite Cushing in the Hammer Horror adaptation of Hound of the Baskervilles.)
And the whole time there's supposed to be all this tension where Morell is threatening to electrocute Cushing's wife to death if he doesn't help rob a bank, and I'm just over here like "WATSON."
