Just so we’re clear, movies that are only 15 years old do not need a remake. And movies that are only 10 years old definitely don’t need a remake

Jeremy Brett as David Malcolm [19/20]
Seagull Island (1981)
sorry but someone assuming you have "left a fandom" when you don't post about it a lot anymore feels like bilbo coming home to the sackville bagginses having him presumed dead and selling all his stuff. girl i was just on a little quest????
“Holmes is DONE being in the public eye! he DOES NOT want to be a detective anymore! he’s moving to the COUNTRY and taking up BEEKEEPING and LIVING A QUIET LIFE this is my LAST PUBLISHED RECORD of my boyfriend because he is RETIRED!”
ACD i hear you and respect you. but Watson wants to keep writing about Holmes.
unpopular opinion probably but I actually like that ao3 doesn’t let people take back their kudos.
unlike social media platforms (which ao3 is not) where people unlike stuff whenever they think or find out the original posters’ moral compass doesn’t perfectly align with their own’s or whatever, and “likes” can be taken back at any time, ao3 treats kudos as something sacred. once you give it, it’s the author’s to keep forever.
Screaming into my pillow
I cannot swashbuckle under these circumstances
I watched the six napoleons tonight and I can’t get over how cute lestrade and watson are
cheeky lil head tilt for the fun
I felt Holmes's hand steal into mine and give it a reassuring shake, as if to say that the situation was within his powers, and that he was easy in his mind.
*likes your personal post that i don’t fully understand or have context for just so you know i’m listening and i care about you*
Prof. Arronax saying to Nemo "where you go, I go." After only knowing the man at most a day and a half is some of the gayest shit Ive ever heard and I am here for it
“…Taking up a glowing cinder with the tongs and lighting with it the long cherry-wood pipe which was wont to replace his clay when he was in a disputatious rather than a meditative mood…” (The Adventure of the Copper Beeches)
adulthood is just telling yourself “and after i’ve done THAT i can finally relax” with increasing desperation
B&W Watsons Part I
David Burke as Sir George Burnwell in The Beryl Coronet (1965), a story which Granada tragically never adapted
unreliable narrator but it's just an aromantic writing romance
the author's barely concealed aromanticism
My main barrier to writing romance is that I find it quite cringe to write and difficult to write naturally because I've never experienced those emotions.
I have loads of real-life examples of different relationship types and romantic/sexual orientations around me; I have cis het friends, non-binary friends, bisexual friends, a pansexual friend, lesbian acquaintances, demisexual friends (my sister is demi too), and I myself am asexual and maybe aromantic.
I can write outsider views of relationships or the relationships of people around the character whose POV it is.
When it comes to writing romance involving the POV character though, I'm out of my depth 😅
Me posting another WIP with the exact same somewhat-romantic ending as the last one wondering if any of them make any sense but I can't think of another thing to put down
the fighting choreographies in granada holmes are so bad even for 80s standards but i honestly don't care. i laugh because they're hilarious but i still love them. watching jeremy brett flail his arms around / the reichenbach brawl between holmes and moriarty / whatever the fuck was going on in the solitary cyclist etc. i love it. it's great.
🤣
I wish I could love it. Unfortunately, I am spoiled by Sherlock Holmes movies made by an action nerd and am therefore appalled.
