Hey peeps, Long time no see. Probably you forgot that my tumblr exists haha. But I don’t blame you. The graduation movie took a toll on everything else in my life but now it’s finished and frankly it was worth it. Today I watched a short animation called Hors de l'eau (out of water) by Simon Duong van Huyen. This animation is stunning, it is set from a first-person perspective, about a group of Japanese macaque monkeys that live on a frigid mountain side, the story depicts the harsh realities, of the brutality of hierarchy that is faced by these creatures when they are living in such large groups. I am in absolute awe with the way the animators use a first-person perspective, it helps to really immerse yourself into the film. The attention to detail with the fur, snow and especially the eyes is mesmerising, very inspirational and the physical motion of the different characters was in my opinion perfect.
