plot: please give me the drama of a woman who left after a year because she couldn’t handle being a mom or married to a one night stand.

As soon as his son came running into his office saying a stranger had broken into the house Andrew immediately stood up and picked up his son ready to get out the house and call the police. The only problem was that instead of a robber in the living room it was Elijah’s mother...who had run out on them. “You’re breaking and entering.”

“Hey, my brother got us some exclusive invites to a party tonight.” Andy informed his boyfriend, a smile dancing on his lips. “Some billionaire closed down a club for his birthday, and Ben got us on the list. So we need to go shopping and get a new outfit for tonight.”

“I’m kind of nervous, but excited, I think. We never celebrated Christmas... where I’m from. My father said it was sinful.” Andrew still hadn’t completely shaken that thought, but he got sweep up in the holiday fever. Everything was a first for him: eggnog, Christmas trees, gingerbread houses. And snow. Oh, the snow. People had told him the weather was changing, that it didn’t snow as much, but it felt like a blessing that he’d gotten to experience it at all. It never snowed where he came from.

“I’ve gotten everyone gifts. Small things. I was hoping... could you help me wrap them? I don’t really.... They look so perfect on TV and at the mall and I have no idea how to do that.” He wouldn’t let them help with their present, of course. He’d just have to pay close attention and go it alone after they left.

Andrew had the gifts wrapped and now it was time to work on the tree. He’d been advised to by one of the fake one. They’d said it was ‘more environmentally friendly’. When he gave them a confused look, they explained that it meant better for the planet. 

So he picked out a small-ish plastic tree and got as many ornaments as he could afford, as well as his beloved Starburst candy canes, which he forced himself not to eat. Andrew had asked Desiree over to the basement-turned-apartment that he lived in. “I really appreciate this. I want it to look perfect and.... I think it would just be better if I had someone who actually knew about Christmas to help.”

“Everyone really liked the gifts I got them,” Andrew said. “I got a lot of gifts too. I didn’t think anyone thought that much of me, but I guess not.” Andrew wasn’t a materialistic person, but he got a lot of joy from getting so many presents. He gave away more than he got, but considering this was his first Christmas and he’d only known his oldest friends for a few months, he’d made a killing. “One of my friends got me this thing called a slinky. It’s so cool. It can walk down the stairs by itself. I’ve never seen anything like it.”
