I’d like to be an annoying smartass for a minute and point out that using ‘andro’ as an abbreviation for ‘androgynous’ makes no sense, since this word is made up of two Ancient Greek words (ἀνήρ and γυνή) that mean respectively ‘man’ and ‘woman’. If it’s abbreviated to ‘andro’, the ‘woman’ part is being removed, while the whole point of this word is that’s is a combination of the two.
