The Vanta Continuum's take on the QT Units
In the Vanta Continuum, there are 10 QT units as opposed to canon’s 6. QT Unit #10 is the latest one, yet both it and #9 are still getting updates and are officially supported. They were not only therapy robots, but they could also double as a friend. Oh, and Insecurities don’t exist in the Vanta Continuum.
Unit #1 was merely a prototype that Gabriel made just to see if he could build a therapy robot, so she was very simple. She was built in 11 PC/1995 AD.
Unit #2 was intended to be the first actual unit and was also intended to be the first one released to the public. Basically looks like Unit #1, but with the highlights in her hair that is used to this day and a bit more peach-colored, but still no synthetic skin. However, like canon, she accidentally assimilated herself and became a fleshy mess that had to be put down, so it is skipped in this. She was built the same year as Unit #1.
Unit #3 was the first actual unit and the first unit released to the public. She was given synthetic skin in order to look more human, however, she is still naked. In her instruction manual, it says that the consumer can put any clothes on her so she could be what the consumer wants her to be. She was also made a bit taller. She was built and released in 10 PC/1996 AD.
Unit #4 was the second unit released to the public. She was given a starter sweater, which was the sweater that all QT units from #4 onwards would wear to this day. Her AI was also updated. She was built and released in 9 PC/1997 AD.
Unit #5 was the third unit released to the public. She was given a starter skirt, her AI was updated once again and some bugs were fixed. She was built and released in 8 PC/1998 AD.
Unit #6 was the fourth unit released to the public and last one before the QT units were sold from Brutality Labs to another company which I haven’t came up with a name yet. She was given socks and Mary Janes and more bugs were fixed. She was also given more sensors for things humans do to make her a bit more human-like and updated battery life. She was built in 8 PC/1998 AD and released in 7 PC/1999 AD.
Unit #7 was the fifth unit released to the public and first one under the ownership of said new company. The new company wondered what a male QT unit would be like, so this QT unit was a boy, and thus, his skirt was changed to shorts, his sweater was no longer off-shoulder, and his Mary Janes were replaced with converses. His AI was rewritten from the ground up, and now any data from previous units could be brought over to this unit. He was built and released in 6 PC/2000 AD.
Unit #8 was the sixth unit released to the public and second one under the ownership of said new company. They believed that Unit #7 was a failure, so they changed her back to female and the clothing changes from Unit #7 were reverted. They also gave her more agility and reflex to cater to the ones who use the QT units as friends. She was also given a remote so that the consumer could turn her off/on from afar. Her ahoge was also recolored to the color of her highlights. She was built in 5 PC/2001 AD and was released in 4 PC/2002 AD.
Unit #9 was the seventh unit released to the public. She was given a bra to help her sweater stay up since previous units (except for ones before #4 and #7) were prone to having their sweaters constantly fall down. She could also now pull her sweater back up by herself in the event that it still falls down. More bugs were fixed and her AI was updated too. She was also given a battery with infinite energy and can now speak different languages. She was released in 2 AC/2007 AD.
Unit #10 was the eighth and latest unit released to the public. Her hair and clothes became more vibrant and she became more expressive. Her code was updated to get rid of any potentially outdated things in it. She also gained more accessibility and can be used to assist people with disabilities. She was released in 6 AC/2012 AD.
