Hi hi Morri! Happy STS! I recently started classes again and one of my classes is Starting a Novel, so in that vein I would like to ask you: how would you describe the tone of your narrator's voice? Whether you use 1st person, 3rd person, or another POV, what tone does your narrator tend to take as you write?
Ohh, these are good questions, Andi!! Thank you!
I'm going to talk about the unnamed narrator for High Fantasy WIP, because he's my most interesting narrator. He's a raven in service of that universe's death god, the Raven Queen. He follows the group and keeps track of their exploits, and the entire book is his retelling of their adventure to the Raven Queen herself.
If you've ever read The Book Thief by Markus Zuzak, I imagine him a bit like Death in that book. He's not supposed to care or get invested, and he's never going to intervene, but he does take interest in the party and watches them.
However, I'm hoping to aim for a bit more of a sarcastic spin on his voice, since this book is definitely a bit more lighthearted than The Book Thief. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get it right how I want it, especially since this is my first time writing like this, but I have hopes!!
Happy WBW! What's one thing that your main character really truly believes in, like a faith that cannot be shaken? (like example for me: i believe that there is no such thing as a coincidence and that is a hill I will die on)
Hiii! Sorry, I'm late but thanks for asking!
This is a great question.
I think Sayuri is the type to believe "if bad things can happen, they will happen." Kate would believe "fate is what you make it."
Thanks!

Hey there! Thank you, Happy World-Building Wednesday to you too! 😄👋 @andromedaexists
That's a good question. I'm going to answer this for Libby Mason because to be honest, I feel like she's one of my more developed OCs at the moment, lol! :)
From Part III onwards, one thing Libby really believes in is that whilst suffering is a fact of life, we are ultimately put here to feel joy. :) She adopted this belief from her childhood best friend, Mia Caldwell, who tragically passes away from a degenerative illness at the start of III's story. :(
I think adopting that belief could Libby's way of honouring Mia's memory and maybe it could also contribute to her evolution into adulthood? Not a hundred percent sure... 🤔🤷
Thank you for sending an ask! :)

Hello! Thanks so much for sending this in, and I apologize with how late this is. I decided to take a little bit of a vacation to cope with everything that happened at the end of 2022.
