Thoughts on Briefing 6
just on the vid itself, not on any of the text or supplemental info given.
- HOOOO it’s the voice of my people, I like Suvi’s accent and voice (as you might expect) yes indeed
- neat, I speculated here that the final briefing might be narrated by Suvi
it’d be cool if the final video had someone else! Maybe the Tempest’s science officer, since xenobiology would come under that remit!
- ha ha I c what u did there biower with the “safe harbor” call-back to Alec’s “safe harbor” quote in the 2nd cinematic trailer
- wincing at their Helius/Heleus typo, like Sara/Sarah, these things aren’t that hard to get right lol..
- the resource counters for the Nexus’ stockpiles are pretty much the same shape as those for the elements we mined with probes in ME2. it’s a nice touch
- some thoughts on some of the habitats and their similarity to some MW planets here
- the flicking through the habitats is a cool callback to the 2015 E3 announcement trailer.
- habitat 1 seems like Elaaden no?
- habitat 5′s look/environment is my definite favorite (habitat 2 is the second, I love the contrast of the red vegetation). had previously wondered if the ‘purple flora bioluminescent’ planet was the angaran homeworld.. maybe it still is? in that case, are angara are a dextro species?
- QUARIANS ASDFS. not really a surprise as detailed here, but still. !!!! had previously speculated on quarian colonists here. I am gunna wake up ALL the quarian colonists, and get them hella houses on their new homeworld
- habitat 6, idk those formations with the ocean and stuff briefly made me think of the part of Pandora in Avatar where the ikran people of the eastern sea live
- the image at 3:02 reminds me of this that was teased by Fernando and Dragon Age Keep. I said there that it reminds me of the golden ratio (the kind of images google brings back if you punch in ‘golden ratio humans’.. in turn those look like the drawn human man and woman with the angles in the briefing). Edit: THANKYOU @andromedangus for telling me the name of this thing/what it is - the Pioneer plaque!! that’s so freakin cool. I knew that shit was familiar. you’re a hero. andromedangus said: “the briefings show both the Pioneer plaque and the cover of the Voyager's record (which launched after both of the Pioneers). a neat little nod to humanity's first attempts at contacting other species while talking about first contact protocols in Andromeda”
