what are your thoughts on the blackhawks name/logo? 👀

okay, i’m kind of glad you asked me this bc i feel very concrete on my position. obviously, i do not like/support the name/logo in any way. and especially in the last month or so i’ve been extremely conscious of censoring the logo whenever possible in all of my content. but my love and support for the hawks is completely based on the players and the players only. also ik it seems to be a major misconception (in hockeyblr especially) that hawks fans are completely complicit with the use of the name/logo but i have yet to interact with one that does support it. 

ultimately i think discourse would be immensely more productive if people spent less time demonizing fans and more time criticizing the organization that exploits and profits off the offensive imagery.

Peonies! My family home has peony bushes right outside, so they remind me of home.

My name means “Ireland,” but I’m not really Irish. I’m always too warm. I was in Korea during the impeachment of their president.

45. how you found out about your idol

okay so hockey has always been ~~~~around~~~~ in my house (my mom and grandmother were/are Chicago fans and my great-grandfather was a Rangers fan), BUT I started paying attention when I saw Jamal Mayers hit a dude and he’s been my “idol” since. (I’ve always loved power forwards)
