my favorite female character: tami taylormy favorite male character: eric taylormy favorite book/season/etc.: s1 has both the best pilot ep i've probably ever seen and one of the very best season finales of all time with a lot of really great episodes in between and definitely suffers from being too long with a lot of filler BUT ultimately is still my favorite even though i love the move to east dillon and the antagonization of the panthers very very muchmy favorite episode: blinders maybe? tyra's gonna get real into powderpuff this yearmy favorite cast member: connie brittonmy favorite ship: taylors, but also lyla/tima character i'd die defending: tyra collette ("but now i find i can't stop wanting"!!!)a character i just can't sympathize with: i feel like there are times when the show wants you to sympathize with j.d. mccoy but fuck j.d. mccoy forevercharacter i grew to love: so many! lyla, the majority of the 2nd gen characters, mindy collette-riggins probably most of allmy anti-otp: i don't give even half of a shit about jason/lyla

when you were writing warm gulf wind, how/when did you decide it would be almost entirely free of dialogue?

It was really early in the story, actually! The driver who picks her up at the airport, I couldn’t figure out how much he would know about her. She’s supposed to be famous and recovering from something, but I didn’t know if it was, like, in every tabloid and a cover story in People or if he would treat her like any other passenger. So I decided to keep it all in her head, then I liked the way that worked enough to do it with anyone else she encountered, so we’re always really tight inside her POV. Then there was this overwrought and awkward convo that I cut to one line because it wasn’t working, and the line by itself worked so well I never bothered trying to fix it!

I definitely add audiobooks to my goodreads count! I'm jamming on anything narrated by Nadia May. She does a lot of the Jane Austen books, as well as other classic britlit, and she has the perfect voice for it imo. Uppercrust and a bit snooty, but still with warmth and humour underneath.

Love it. I have Rosamund Pike’s audio of P&P but honestly as in all other arenas of life, never enough Austen.

Audiobooks 100% count. I'm currently listening to Robin Benway's "Far From The Tree" and it is emotionally compromising in the best way. "Blackmoore" was one of my favorite listens of 2017; regency UST at its finest. "The Scorpio Races" is a Stiefvater classic and the narrators are fantastic. Hope that helps <3

I finished Far from the Tree right before I stopped being too dizzy to do stuff and it just killed me--I’m sitting on the couch of my apartment with my mom so she can drive me to the doctor the next day, and she’s reading something aloud out of an article she thinks I’ll find interesting and I look up from the book and I’m like, “I’m very sorry, I love you very much, I want to hear what you’re saying, but I have like three pages left of this story and I need you to stop right now so I can finish it.” It was wrapped up SO well but I would love to see more of those characters. Others going in the wishlist.

I read the summary and was like, “this sounds like Shrek, I’m into it.” That’s a weird thought to have, but: wishlist.

Audiobooks totally count. James Marsters narrates the Dresden Files audiobooks. The first three or so in the series are meh, but I'm on 11 and they keep getting better. I also really like to listen to anything written by Ilona Andrews. The Lizzie Bennet/Lydia Bennet LDD tie in books are available in audio, voiced by the actors.

My fave thing about the secret LBD diary was like it was costume theater to the max, but I never got around to the Lydia book, I should do that. I love series, too, thank you for the recs!

1. ANYTHING READ BY DAN STEVENS. I suggest And Then There Were None, Murder on the Orient Express, and Frankenstein. He is amazing. 2. Yes! You can go to "editions" and find the audiobook versions of what you listen to. usually they only count as 7 pages though, so I tend to just put that i'm reading the actual book.

Thank you ALL, SORRY for the delayed response, but my symptoms have been super unpredictable lately and I’m just getting back on the computer over mobile. I checked out some Sarah Dessens that I hadn’t read yet, a huuuuge historical fiction about Hungarian Jews that I can’t listen to in the dark because when I do I wake up and realize I’ve missed three chapters and intercontinental travel, aaaand I thought I’d work my way through some Stephanie Plum mysteries until I listened to 15 and realized it’s kind of incredibly racist and maybe I should not go further with that.
