This week's theme: the Force!

One of the reasons Russ Manning is my favorite Star Wars artist/writer is that he came up with so many fantastic women original characters. Anduvil, Luke’s Tall Girlfriend, with her hilarious attitude and zebra leggings, is one of the best. “Uh-huh...” is such a great response to Luke’s terrible explanation.

Newspaper Comics Fancast, Part 1

The recent news of ten new Star Wars film projects made me imagine how I would adapt some of my favorite comics. Russ Manning’s run of the newspaper comics contains some of the strangest and most charming characters in Star Wars, and it would be a dream come true to see them return!

From the funky mind of Russ Manning: Luke reluctantly returns home to Tatooine, only to get infected by a local disease which turns your eyes spacey (and your hands gross). It’s freaking awesome.
