Angel the Series | 4x07 "Apocalypse, Nowish"
I wish there was more scenes like this between these two. Sometimes it felt like Lorne was just kind of there and that Angel was indiffernt at best so it's good to see how caring he is here.
ReWatch: Angel - S2, E19 - 21
Ep 19: Belonging Ugh, Wesley on the phone with his dad is hard to watch, you can tell how dismissively he is being, not caring about how Wes is doing; but more importantly you can see how much it's hurting Wesley. Personally I hope he never calls him again.
And then there's Angel on the set of something where he can stand there, basking in the sun without bursting into flames. He's adorable. It's followed up by a casting director being disgusting to Cordelia commenting on her appearance and treating her like a piece of meat.
AHHHH Cordy gets sucked into the portal, I assume we will be meeting fighter dude. And Gunn had issues with his crew.
Ep 20: Over the Rainbow The husband remembered that Fred came from the other dimension, I did not. And Pielia is not a good place for humans because Cordy is sold at auction and referred to as a cow. Rude much?
Of course she gets hers when she's a princess later. Love that for her. Although it's not really a princess position, still more like sacrificial title as they await the arrival of Gru.
Angle has a crisis of self after seeing his vampire side in Pielia, a full monster with bumps and horns, but more importantly, his loss of control over himself; the darkness invades him. But Fred knew what to do, save around a hand covered in blood.
I was so distracted by Cordy's outfit, so much skin, she is so beautiful.
Fave dialog Angel: Can everyone notice how much fire I'm not on?
Ep 21: There's No Place Like Plrtz Glrb They put Wesley in charge, which he isn't thrilled about, but he does it and you can see the shift in him here. He's serious, he's planned it all out, knows there's going to be death but also knows it's necessary for the plan to work. Even lies (maybe) to Angel. As this is a rewatch, knowing Wes's path I was interested in the turning point and I think it was this arch here.
I appreciated Lorne's story, that he had to go home to know that he didn't need to go home (even if his heart (and others) were telling him to. Know he knows he's happy where he is and can continue enjoying life.
Love the gang is all back together, complete with the addition of Fred. The episode ends on a downer though as Willow's waiting for them; this syncs up with Buffy jumping into the portal to save Dawn, so she has to tell Angel she's dead.
Side note: can't believe Cordy spent that much time in the gold bikini thing. Hope it was warm on set. Fave Dialog Gunn: You really think he'll come back? Wes: I need him to think it
