"Tyler was well liked, perhaps the most "popular" guy in school, but not in a bad way. Everyone liked Tyler and Tyler liked everyone back. He put in a lot of time and effort into making himself a better basketball player, most people thought that was his calling. If he wasn't at school or studying, he was practicing his jump shot . Didn't really have to try to be liked, super easy to get along with. Super funny without having to be vulgar like a lot of middle-school/high-schoolers. I think in 10th grade he began teaching himself piano and started performing in the weekly chapel service at the Christian school we went to. I also took their first promo photos when they first started the band; before they ever released any music. After the photo shoot l went to their practice space and heard their music for the first time, within that very first minute of hearing their music I knew they were something special and that Tyler had put the same dedication and drive I'd watched him put into basketball for 10 years, into his music."
