The Rip Curl Pro in Peniche Portugal has so many memories for me but probably none so poignant as this shot depicts of Andy Irons getting ready to paddle out for his very last heat. 20 years ago Andy Irons won the first pro contest ever run at Teahupo'o, the Black Pearl Horue Pro. In 2010 the Billabong Pro was his last WCT event win. I was lucky to have shot every event he competed in at Teahupo'o and he was without a doubt the best backhand surfer out there.
