heeyyy, just passing by to say I've been reading 'a set of empy bones' and I'm absolutely in love with that story! All the angst and the journey of Buck dealing with the assault is just so engaging to read!

I've been so invested that I've been stalling reading the latest chapters (I'm on 22) cause I don't know what I'll do when I catch up lmao Especially after I caught up with the Buck heart disease fic and have been orphan from it since lmao

Anyways, just wanted to congratulaye you! Hopefully writing has been going well.

I’m laughing at how you feel about finishing, not at you, promise. Honestly, I wish I was getting more writing done currently, but I’m not. Lots of home stuff going on atm that has kept me distracted. But I am trying to get the next chapters worked on more.

As for EB, we still have places to go! And although I’m getting closer to the end of Its Gonna Be Alright, that story has been *such* an adventure to do that honestly I might do something else research-heavy again at some point.

Aneurysm fic update?

I know this got sent a month ago...

So. Here's the thing.

I updated EB like 3 days ago. In my head, going into finishing that chapter, this was my mindset: EB > loft fire/mpreg fic > aneurysm fic long story short, losing my job and the depression that followed kinda stole my mental energy for writing. Then I left the state, and when I came home, other stuff was/is going on. I'm still doing a bunch of writing, but it's a lot of stuff that's been *started* and isn't quite ready for a post yet. To that end, I also have SO MANY posted WIPs that I need to get work done in that I don't want to post anything new. Plus, we're also just in the peak part of summer starting where my health decides nothing has to function properly. It should taper off as we get into next month, though.

(A LOT of the new stuff is omegaverse/mpreg. Like, I've like 4 different things going for bucktommy, so if yall wanna see, drop me an ask and I'll post some teasers). My goal for this summer is to try and make a serious dent in aneurysm fic. I never expected to still be writing it now, a full year later, but stuff happens. I'm also hoping to get TDDB done, and at least get closer to the end of EB. (I don't think the journey there is quite done yet). and then obvs, depending on how we round things out with aneurysm fic.... I'm always open to a sequel XD

So I will try to get a teaser out to you soon, I promise! I have groundwork started for chapter 7, I just have to get it there.

“So I’ve noticed,” the pilot answers with a grin. Once he’s finished shuffling things around, he settles down into one of the chairs nearby and glances up at Evan. He’s still asleep, likely resting off the last of the general that he was given for the removal of the pacemaker. 

“How’s his heartbeat,” Tommy asks, somewhat nervously. 

Maddie shrugs. “I only noticed something off once, and it was more from my understanding as a nurse than anything to be worried about. But they said his heart will still take time to regulate entirely, right?” Tommy nods. “The medication should keep it beating normally, but there’s expected hiccups here and there until his body is fully regulated to it, and then fully healed.” 

Maddie nods again as she glances up at the ECG. The monitor beeps rhythmically, moving in its expected variations of spikes and waves. After a few minutes, she starts to pick at her muffin while she and Tommy talk about the changes that need to be made to the wedding once Evan is released. All of the work they’d done to readjust the menu has also affected some of the costs, and other payments are coming due. Plus, he and Evan were supposed to have an engagement session with a photographer a few days previous, but due to the extended hospitalization, their photographer was gracious enough to continue to hold their deposit and let them have a standing reservation to reschedule. 

Evan starts to rouse as Maddie is finishing her muffin, and he looks over at them with bleary eyes briefly, blinking a few times before shifting on the bed. 

“Sup,” he asks softly. 

Tommy shakes his head at the younger man. “Just waiting for you to wake up.” 

Evan glances over at Maddie and then back at Tommy, sniffing a few times. 

“I smell food,” he comments. His gaze shifts down to Maddie’s hands and then back up at Tommy. “Apple fritter?” 

The pilot chuckles and nods, reaching for the bag set on the bedside table nearby. He opens it and retrieves the pastry, offering it out to Evan. The younger man shifts higher in his bed and takes it, lifting it to his mouth and taking a small bite. He smiles as the flavor hits his tongue. 

“So good.”

several sentence monday

so i'm late. kill me. have some more of what i cranked out of aneurysm fic (it's gonna be alright piece by piece) tonight (one day i'll get this chapter finished):

“F-fucking h-hurts,” he stammers, pressing his back hard into the hospital bed. 

“More atenolol,” Dr. Tomlin orders. “And a dose of Ativan. And when was his last done of hydromorphone?” 

The nurses bustle around Dr. Tomlin, talking over one another, and then a moment later, several syringes are passed off to him. He twists one into Evan’s line and then squeezes his hand lightly as he starts injecting it. 

“Atenolol first,” he says, stroking the back of Evan’s hand with his thumb. Evan looks over at him, his expression entirely miserable as several tears roll down his cheeks. “I know. We’re going to get this under control, okay?” 

Tommy watches both of them, stroking Evan’s head with his free hand as his heart rate comes down. Dr. Tomlin swaps the syringes, grabbing Evan’s hand again as he injects it. 

“Ativan now,” he continues. “Should help you calm down and be able to actually rest.” When the dose is in, he swaps the syringe out the final time, but Evan’s body is already staring to settle more against the bed. “Hydromorphone.” He glances over at Olivia, his primary nurse. “I want him watched like a hawk. Check-ins every five minutes, regular ECG reads.” He glances over at Tommy, shaking his head. “This is going to push us back by a day, but I need him rested and healing.”
