It’s nearly 1:30 in the morning, it’s prime Angle!Patton AU ramblin hours!
M’kay, so continuation of the last post. Logan brings the man (it’s Patton to anyone who didn’t get that lol) inside. He sets him down on the couch and finally gets a good look at him. He’s wearing a plain light blue t-shirt and white pants and a pair of thin rimmed glasses. He’d be a completely ordinary guy if it weren’t for the wings. Wings that looked more real than Logan thought they should. Logan gets towels to dry him off and goes to get Roman. It’s his house after all and he’s not 100% sure what to do with the stranger.
Roman starts all “how dare you disturb my beauty sleep??” And Logan’s just like “I require some assistance with the stranger unconscious on your couch.” THAT catches Romans attention and he gets up. Roman knows Logan better than almost anyone, so he knows whatever’s going on, Logan has good reason. They try to wake up the stranger but to no avail. He’s still breathing and while not in the best shape, he doesn’t seem to need to go to the hospital. Sleep deprived themselves, they decide to deal with it in the morning (great idea guys) and set him up in the guest room. As they are, they just can’t figure out the wings (How are these strapped on??) Roman goes back to bed but Logan just... can’t. First off, there's a stranger in his friends’ guest room. Second, where did he come from? Logan stays up in the room sitting in a chair across the room though he doesn’t stay awake for long.
Morning time and Logan is jolted awake by a crash. He looks to the bed to see the stranger up on his feet with a lot of emotions on his face, ranging from scared to confused to pained.
“Good morning, I apologize if I startled you.”
“...”
“Are... are you hurt at all?”
“... My, uh... my wing...”
“Ah, yes, I apologize if that left you uncomfortable. We couldn’t seem to figure out how to take them off.”
“Take- take them off??”
“Yes, they are rather realistic, I must say.”
“Well, heheh umm, about that...”
This again got kinda long and I REALLY should get to bed lol. More in the morning??? Maybe???? Also some one asked to be tagged, would anyone else like to be? This may be all I talk about for a bit so if you’re interested!!

"So," Roman began, as he clanged pots and pans while starting dinner. "Patton kissed me today." He paused what he was doing, hearing Dee put their book down before coming over to the kitchen, shock clearly visible on their face.
"He did?"
"Yeah! We were just chilling out, and I was about to start talking about Hamilton when, bam, kiss right on the lips!"
"What... what was it like?"
"If you're trying to ask me if he's a good kisser, love, then yes he is. He kinda... tasted like June? I know that makes no sense but that's what I got."
"Hot," Dee smirked, leaning against the counter as Roman flushed red for a moment. "What happened after that? Did you get his number?"
"No, no, nothing like that. It was really short, and after he kept apologising, we really need to tell him we're polyamorous by the way, he was babbling about how he wasn't trying to get me to cheat on you and he left before I could even get a word in."
"Well, at least we know he likes one of us, I'd be okay with that."
"Deedee," Roman moved away from the stove and cupped his partner's face. "I know you like him too, and I wouldn't feel right if he only wanted to date me and not you. Besides, who *wouldn't* want to date a drop-dead gorgeous enby like you?"
"Pfft, okay you sappy homo,"
Conversations such as that weren't out of the ordinary for Roman and Dakota. They were a couple, and both polyamorous, so if anything outside of their circle of love happened they would always tell each other. This, however, was different. Patton had moved to the city a few years ago, appearing almost out of thin air, and both Roman and Dee had developed quite a crush on him, to the point of discussing adding him as a permanent addition to their relationship if he was okay with it.
Dee hadn't seen Patton around too much after that day, which was odd, as they often bumped into each other in the bookshop and cafe and other communal areas, having decent conversations for friends that were still a little awkward. However, on one cold day, while Dee was standing in line to get a coffee to start their morning off right, they finally saw Patton again, having just collected his order.
"Hey, Pat-" Before Dee could finish their greeting, Patton had hurried past them and out of the coffee shop. That was weird, Dee thought, so they decided they could get some sweet caffeine later and followed Patton out the door.
Luckily, Patton was barely a block away, and Dee caught up to him very quickly. "You're not avoiding me, are you Patton?" Dee asked once they were close enough for Patton to hear them. Patton visibly flinched and spun on his heel, eyes wide as he saw Dee.
"O-oh, Dee, fancy seeing you here!" His voice was very obviously panicked, and Dee couldn't help but frown slightly.
"Are you alright, Patton? You seem a little jumpy."
"Oh, me? I'm-" Patton seemed to mouth the word fine, but stopped, staying silent for nearly a whole minute before finally speaking again. "I... I have to tell you something, Dee..."
"Oh yeah? What is it?" Dee was genuinely curious what Patton seemed so hesitant to tell them, and the millions of scenarios running through their head never lined up to how Patton was acting.
"I... I... IkissedRomantheotherdayandI'msosorry!"
"I- what? You're gonna have to say that slower Patton, I didn't catch that."
"I... kissed Roman... It was a complete accident and I'm so sorry, please don't hate me!" Oh. *Oh.* That was it? That was all he was hiding? The sheer simplicity of it made Dee chuckle involuntarily, all tension gone from their body.
"Oh, that? Roman told me the day it happened, I won't hate you just from that!"
"He told you?"
"Yeah! Dude, chill, seriously, both Roman and I are polyamorous and we always tell each other if we kiss somebody else."
"Poly-what?"
"Polyamorous. Y'know, able to love more than one person, having romantic and/or sexual relationships with multiple people?"
"Wait, that's actually a thing?"
"Yeah! Well, if that's all you were acting shady about, then I'm gonna get me some coffee, okay?" Dee turned to leave, but paused, turning back to Patton again. "Oh, and you can keep kissing Roman if you want, he said you're a great kisser." Somehow, Roman's flirting spirit entered Dee's body, as they winked at Patton before heading back to the coffee shop.
Roman was laughing, which was normally one of the best sounds Dee could ever hear, but right now? She wanted to beat Roman into the ground for laughing.
"It's not funny, Ro!" She huffed, her head buried in her hands. "I winked at him! He probably thinks I get off to my boyfriend kissing random people!"
"Well-"
"Do not finish that sentence Roman Adam Preston or I swear to the lord I will end your life." Dee glared menacingly at Roman through her fingers, who held his hands up in defence.
"Okay, okay!" Roman sat down next to Dee, slowly removing her hands from her face. "I highly doubt Patton would think anything bad about you for winking at him, love.”
After explaining to Patton that Dee seriously did not mind him kissing Roman, he started hanging around them more, just like before. Even if Dee was sometimes, subconsciously hoping that he would like them too, it was never vocalised, not even when Roman joined them for grabbing a coffee or going to lunch during their lunch breaks.
Unfortunately, it was during one of these three-way outings, going to a movie that they all wanted to see, that Dee felt their heart drop for the first time in a long while. It was as they had all just met up outside Patton’s apartment building, all talking together comfortably when a voice cut through the chatter.
"Ethan!?" Dee froze, which they were sure Patton and Roman would both notice, and Roman seemed to also tense up slightly. That voice, it was so familiar but surreal to hear again.
It was Dee's brother, Noah, looking slightly puzzled but still smiling, always smiling. At that moment, Dee realised that they were wearing a skirt and makeup, and anxiety started kicking in, as they had never come out to their family, and what was their brother *doing* here when he lived halfway across the country!?
"Noah," Roman spoke, clearly putting himself between Dee and Noah. "What're you doing here?"
"Uh, do I know you?"
"You've known me since I was born."
"Wait, Rosie is that you!? No way, I never would've guessed you cut your hair short!" Roman didn't seem to even twitch at the use of that old nickname, but Dee did, cringing at the way that Noah was talking.
"Roman," Roman spoke, voice lower as if to seem threatening. "It's Roman now. I'm a guy."
"I- what? But you were definitely a little girl."
"Well now I'm a guy," Roman sounded like he was getting angry, and Dee was so nervous at what Noah would say to them not being a boy, let alone actually being genderfluid, that they couldn't even think of anything to say. "Sorry to cut this short, but *Dakota* and I are taking our good friend Patton here to see a movie, and we'd hate to be late." With that, Roman grabbed Dee by the shoulder and steered them away, motioning for Patton to follow them, which he quickly did, confusion on his own face.
Dee couldn't even find the strength to say anything until the three of them had arrived in a secluded cafe, and Roman was ordering drinks. Even then, Patton was the one that prompted the conversation, Dee was sat in silence clenching their hands hard enough that it was starting to hurt.
"Are... are you okay Dee? Who was that?" Dee didn't respond, not even really registering Patton speaking until he placed a hand on top of theirs, causing them to jump and look at him. "Are you alright?"
"O-oh, yeah, I'm fine, it's nothing," Dee stammered out, both shaken up from seeing Noah but also from Patton essentially holding their hand.
"Who was that guy?"
"My brother... I never told any of my family about me,"
"About your pronouns?"
"Yeah... That's why he called me E- my old name. He doesn't know but still..."
“That can’t have been easy to deal with,” Patton shifted in his seat. “C-could I… give you a hug?” Dee looked up at Patton, too shocked to even say anything, so they nodded, and Patton immediately pulled Dee into the warmest hug they had ever experienced. Patton was so *soft* and *warm* and Dee near enough melted into the embrace. Just touching Patton made all of Dee’s panic disappear in an instant as if Patton’s very soul was comforting them and taking away all of the negative feelings. Dee couldn’t help but nuzzle into Patton’s chest, not even caring that they were beginning to blush, as they listened to Patton’s heartbeat. Wait a minute, where was Patton’s heartbeat?
After the incident with Noah, Patton seemed to be trying to find ways to spend more time with Dee and Roman, either separately or all together. Annoyingly, Dee had to work a lot of the times that Patton was free and asking to hang out, so, months later, after deciding with Roman that they would test the waters, she wasn't even there to witness Patton’s reaction.
“Patton?” Roman and Patton were currently in Dee’s apartment, Roman having let himself in to raid Dee’s snacks, although now they were sitting at the dining table. “I have a question to ask you, well really it’s from me and Dee, and trust me she would love to be here right now if she wasn’t at work.” Roman paused for a second, pulling courage from every bone in his body to say the next sentence. “Would you… like to join me and Dee? In our relationship?”
“A-are you sure? Does Dee really like me like that?”
“Are you kidding? She still hasn’t stopped talking about that hug you gave her and that was months ago.”
“Well, of course, I would! I had no idea you guys felt the same way!”
When Dee got home, tired from work and dishevelled, she didn’t expect to see Roman and Patton making out on her couch, but that was the sight she was greeted with, and frankly, it made her completely forget about the shitty day she’d had at work.
“Well, I take it that your day’s been better than mine?” Dee asked, alerting the two boys to her presence. Patton pulled away first, shocked and blushing extremely hard, while Roman was just smiling widely.
“Deedee!” Roman greeted, keeping an arm around Patton’s waist while his other arm reached out for Dee. “How was work?” Dee couldn't help but smile slightly at how familiar this felt, even as the first time Patton was involved.
“It was shit, but at least I now have two boyfriends to come home to,” She shrugged off her coat and joined the two guys on the couch, slotting perfectly against Roman’s side and reaching for Patton’s hand. God, this felt so good, the love and warmth already there was incredible.
“Are you saying that when you came home to just me it wasn't good enough?” Roman pouted, clearly just playing around and Dee knew this.
“What, am I not allowed to pick favourites?” The small giggle that came from Patton then was heavenly, and Dee almost felt as if she had melted.
Dee didn't really know how it had happened, but suddenly, the three of them were sat watching a movie, Dee with her legs slung across Roman’s lap, and both her and Patton snuggled into the taller man.
At least, until Roman lifted Dee up with ease and placed her squarely in Patton’s lap as he went to make some popcorn, causing both Patton and Dee to squeak in surprise.
“Hi,” Dee smiled, getting comfortable on Patton’s lap. If Roman wanted to place her here, no way in hell was she going to get up again.
“Hi…” Patton smiled back, cheeks flushed red even as his arms hesitantly wrapped around her waist. A few seconds passed by, or maybe a few minutes, as Dee sat and counted Patton’s freckles (27 across the bridge of his nose alone) before suddenly Patton had leaned in, and their lips had connected.
Oh, holy shit, Roman was *right*, Patton did somehow taste just like June. It made no sense, even as she was kissing him, yet it was still a fact. And it was absolutely incredible.
Incredible was a great word to describe the entire relationship. As Patton became more comfortable and all three communicated even more love blossomed, even when Roman and Dee discovered something unpredictable about Patton.
“Pat?”
“Hmm?”
“This may sound really, really weird, but you don't have a heartbeat.” Dee felt Patton freeze up as Roman spoke, all three of them nestled into a cuddle pile in Roman’s queen-sized bed. Roman’s head was currently lying on Patton’s chest, and he turned over to better get a view of him. “Pat?”
“I- uh-” Patton was stuttering, his eyes wide in what seemed to be terror, which caused Dee to sit up, accidentally jostling Patton’s legs as she did so.
“Pat?” Dee asked, gently placing a hand on his shoulder. “You can tell us anything, you know that right?”
“I- yeah…” Patton was silent for a moment, chewing on his lip before letting out an exhale of air. “Okay… promise not to freak out?”
“I promise,” Roman and Dee both said at the exact same time, which made Patton giggle ever so slightly before his face went serious again.
“Okay… I’m not human.” Patton looked between Dee and Roman, gaging the reactions. Roman simply looked confused, but Dee pressed further.
“Then, what are you, if you're not human?”
“I’m… I’m an angel.”
“Bullshit,” Roman spoke, sitting up himself and unintentionally yanking Dee with him, as they had been holding hands this entire time. “You’re an angel? We’re actually dating an angel?”
“Roman, we said we wouldn't freak out,” Dee chided, taking her hand back before her arm could be pulled out of its socket.
“I can show you if you really want?”
“Don’t feel pressured, love,” Dee spoke, but Roman very quickly interjected with a “Do it!”
Patton took a deep breath in, and as he exhaled, a warm orange-yellow glow filled the room as if the sun had just formed in Roman’s bedroom. Dee blinked a few times, before noticing the wing shapes extending from Patton’s back, as well as the halo sat delicately in his hair, both of which were emitting the golden glow. Patton looked extremely scared now, looking between Roman and Dee once again.
“Holy shit,” Dee breathed, “Our boyfriend is actually an angel.”
Roman was speechless, eyes moving from Patton’s halo to his wings and back again before he surged forth and planted a kiss squarely on Patton’s lips. What he said next would forever stick in both Dee and Patton’s minds forever.

summary: When Logan fell from god's grace, his heart burned along with his wings. Patton refuses to believe so.
Logan remembered his life previous to the fall, unlike many demons.
He remembered. He remembered so much and so well that sometimes he wondered if he was still walking among humans, feeling the ground beneath his feet. A ground that was cold and hard and solid and not scorching and unforgiving.
A time where he didn’t have the weight of scars on his back. A time where he could run in the fields, hand in hand with the one person he loved most, Patton.
But he couldn’t. He didn’t love anymore. And he would never again.
His heart had been burned and had torn apart like his wings as he fell from heaven’s grace down and down and down until all he could see was darkness. He had thought he’d die, again. It would’ve hurt less. So much less.
And so, Logan didn’t love anymore. He turned stone cold and heartless, burned from the inside out and with sharp features that weren’t meant to be caressed tenderly as they would’ve been once, but to cut whoever came too close.
He moved up in the ranks, decided that if they wanted to make him a devil, then he’d be one. He worked, cheated and bought his way to the top, to be the right hand man to the devil himself.
He mirrored what he had once been, back in a time when he still had wings, and he still could fly. In a time he and Patton had been happy and together and dead as much as they had been alive.
He didn’t think. He didn’t anymore, since the fall. He had let anger and resentment take over, all the times he had been right but he had had to push down his pride and carry on, for the sole purpose of remaining in grace. He had given up on making everyone equal, on having to back down on things he had every right to be angry about. He was done with anger-free thinking.
There was one person who made him think sometimes, however. One person that could take away the blinding hatred of the world that he had been so accustomed to. That he had decided was the only thing that he could keep, that he should keep.
It was Patton, because of course it was, because he was the one who had stayed by his side in his worst moments, when he cried and when he screamed. And logan had done the same.
And now, as the sun came down on the horizon, Logan, the demon, an incarnation of evil, was waiting for Patton, an angel, his angel, leaning on the railing of the porch of the house that had once been theirs. A house that had once been filled with laughs and smiles and life, that now stood abandoned, broken down and left to rot.
He waited, and waited, and waited. He was good at waiting for him, and only for him, otherwise his patience ran short easily.
Eventually, the door to the porch opened with a creak and footsteps came up beside him, just as if they were still human. Like they were once, years ago.
“Logan,” Patton greeted him, smiling. “It’s nice to see you again.”
Logan turned to him. “You too, Patton. It’s been-”
“Three years.” Logan nodded. They had been almost caught the last time they had met up, and they had refused to take the risk again. Eventually, even beings without a heart fall to it’s desire.
Logan stared out at the endless fields that extended before them. Patton stared at Logan’s bare back with a conflicted expression.
Tentatively, he reached out with his hand, and brushed his fingers over the scars. It burned slightly, and he retracted his hand, hissing.
Logan looked at him from the corner of his eye. “We talked about this, Patton.”
The other didn’t respond, opting to stare at the horizon with him. The sky seemed to go on forever, and from where they were watching, they felt like they were on top of everything. To Patton, it looked like it did once, back when he and Logan didn’t meet up in secret, but instead would go out for daily walks and look at the horizon over the drop. They’d talk, and talk and talk, leaving no space for silence.
Now things were different, though.
The angel sighed. “I remember it.”
Logan shot him a look. “What?”
“The Fall. Your fall.”
Logan sneered. “Of course. Every angel remembers it, they made a whole fucking event out of it.”
“It’s the fall of an angel, it’s a big event itself.”
“I sat at Gabriel’s fucking side, and they let me fall for what? Asking questions?” Logan made a fist with his hand, trying to control his anger, he could feel his nails digging into his palm, but he didn’t care. He didn’t care about a lot of things anymore.
“You questioned Him, Logan, not the high council.” Patton wanted to place a hand on his shoulder, wanted to hug him, to kiss him, to make him realize that he knew it wasn’t right, that he understood his frustration, that he was on his side. He wanted to tell him all of that. He didn’t, he couldn’t. “It’s the worst thing an angel can do.”
“I only stood by my morals,” I know, he wanted to shout, I know, and I’m with you. Logan straightened, looking more rigid and cold, despite burning to the touch. “If they aren’t willing to change rules that were written thousands of years ago,” His eyes were far away, from what Patton could tell. “Then I don't think they should be in power.”
Patton stared at him. He felt something arise in him, something he didn’t want and didn’t need but couldn’t rid himself of. “You want to put Hell in charge?” The demon didn’t respond, only set his jaw. “Logan?”
“I’ve… talked about it, down there.” He smiled, not sweetly like Patton had once been able to see frequently, but sharply and demonically. “They love me down there, you know, Patton.” The landscape shiften momentarily around them into a world that was all flames and fire, before turning back to normal. “They love me like they never did up there.”
“Logan,” the angel said, and Logan turned to face him. He looked exactly like what you’d expect an angel would look like, with smooth skin and curvy features and a smattering of freckles across it, and blonde curls that framed his face perfectly. It was a harsh difference to his tall and lean form, with dark, dark hair and sharp angles.
He had once been lovely like Patton. Once, when he still had wings.
“I love you, I always have.” Logan stared at him. He stared straight at the angel, his angel.
A demon was not a being that could receive love, that could be loved in the first place. A demon was the complete opposite of love. And yet, there stood Patton, a being, an angel, who had infinite love to give to everyone, everything, all of the universe.
If angels could love everything, why would they hate the damned?
Patton didn’t know. He didn’t know what Logan had become, what he had done, everyone and everything he had left behind to become the powerful being he now was.
Everything he was with Patton was a memory, a distant unfocused memory of something he wasn’t anymore, of something he could only pretend to be.
He knew now, that what he was right then, when he was with Patton, talking to him, talking to an angel, was not what he was. He was merely deceiving himself.
And by being something he wasn’t, Patton loved him.
“And I will continue to do so, Logan.” Patton stared at him, with so much love and trust and honesty. He even extended his hand, hoping Logan would take it.
Hoping for what? That Logan’s essence, being would change because of love, something he wasn’t able to comprehend? Hoping that Logan’s wings would grow back, that his halo would return, placed around his neck? Hoping for something that would never happen?
Logan knew hoping did more harm than good.
“No, you don’t,” Patton’s eyes went wide. Logan raised his chin, making him look imponent, powerful, against someone of low tier like him.
“Logan-”
“And you never will.” That’s when Patton realized that Logan’s tail was slashing on the floor, in frustration. He met Logan’s eyes again to find them black and red.
Like the day of the fall.
“Logan please-” flames started to lick at the edge of the porch, slowly growing closer.
“I’m sorry Patton, but it’s true. And don’t you love the truth?” the fire was around them, now, and it shone in Logan’s eyes, cold and uncaring.
He wasn’t like Patton remembered, full of life. He used to sing and dance among the other angels. He’d take care of the gardens and look over the fields, and they’d sit on the porch, watching the sunset whispering ‘i love you’ to each other.
But that wasn’t their life anymore.
“I do but-”
“Then stop lying!” Logan yelled. He stood there, then, eyes glowing with something Patton didn’t want to see.
Hatred.
His mind was half panicking about the rapidly advancing fire around him, but the rest of him wanted to yell, to scream, to speak, to say something.
But he didn’t.
He just stood there, watching as Logan turned around and walked into the flames, disappearing.
The fire suddenly died down, leaving it’s scorch marks behind.
He didn’t do anything, he just stood there, looking at the spot where Logan had disappeared, his eyes glossed over.
Then, abruptly, he turned around, and walked back into the house, where he had come from.
Patton can’t help but be excited as he clutches the file. His first assignment! He’s finally a professional angel.
His task is to meet a recently deceased mortal and decide whether to send him to Heaven or Hell.
However, Patton is still a bit nervous because he has to work with a demon.
He’d heard stories about demons from other angels. Apparently, they were savage murderous beasts without a drop of morality running through their veins.
Patton had never met a demon in person before. It’s against the laws of the afterlife. Angels and demons were only allowed to interact for business. Being friends would result is both being under afterlife arrest. (Like house arrest, but it’s for their respective afterlife: the angel would not be allowed to leave heaven, the demon would not be allowed to leave hell.)
Anyway, Patton heads to the Soul Scape, an empty black abyss where the souls of mortal’s appear after death.
Not long after he arrives, there’s a burst of flames, and Patton prepares himself.
He’s surprised when the flames clear and the demon is revealed.
The demon doesn’t look savage and bloodthirsty. Quite the contrary, he looks smart, sophisticated.
He has black hair and glasses. He’s wearing blue jeans, a black polo shirt and a blue striped tie.
“You are Patton, correct? Salutations, I am Logan, the demon who will be working with you today.”
Patton snaps out from his shock from seeing the hot demon and introduces himself properly.
That was a pun, shut up, he doesn’t ACTUALLY find Logan hot... right?
Neither of them have long to wait until the soul they need to sort arrives.
It’s a kid, in purple and black emo clothing and dark makeup.
The kid immediately puts his hand to his neck, eyes wide with shock as he looks around.
Logan opens his file.
“Virgil Storm, sixteen, died from suicide, hanging.”
“WHO THE HECK ARE YOU?! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU?! WHERE THE FUCK AM I?!”
“Calm down, kiddo, it’s gonna be okay. I’m Patton and this is Logan. We’re here to help you.”
Patton calms the panicked teen down before Logan explains the situation.
Virgil suddenly grows angry.
“Are you telling me... that there’s no fucking escape?! I killed myself so I wouldn’t have to live in this hellhole called existence, but I can’t even do that!”
Patton continues to comfort Virgil as Logan looks through his file, which lists all the bad things Virgil has done in his life and how many Negative Points they are worth.
As Patton is still comforting Virgil, Logan also looks through the angel’s file.
After tallying up Virgil’s Positive Points, he furrows his eyebrows.
“Patton, Virgil has an equal amount of Positive and Negative Points.”
Virgil asks what that means.
Patton explains that it’s how they measure whether a soul should be sent to Heaven or Hell.
However, for the first time ever, the points are equal.
Patton suggests they send him to purgatory, but Logan reminds him that purgatory’s for people who only slightly MORE Positive Points.
“What’s gonna happen to me?”
Logan turns to Patton. “I think we need to take this to Thomas.”
Virgil asks who Thomas is.
“He’s the creator. He made the afterlives, the universe, earth, life, everything.”
“So... he’s God?”
“I believe that’s what some people refer to him as, yes. Patton, given as you live in Heaven, you know where Thomas resides, yes?”
“Of course! He and I are good friends! Come on!”
Patton takes them all to Heaven, specifically just outside a large castle.
They head inside and start heading to the main office.
Many angels and other residents of Heaven stare at Logan, a demon being an odd sight in Heaven. Many mutter slurs under their breath.
On the way, they pass an office from which inside there are yells.
“You got the dreams and nightmares mixed up again?!”
“Gurl, it’s not my fault there’s no room in this cramped office so they keep being knocked over!”
“I can’t keep helping you sort them out, there are soulmates who need to be paired!”
Patton informs the other two that it’s just Love and Sleep, Emile and Remy, bickering, before carrying on to the main office of the castle.
Virgil is understandably terrified to meet literal God, and so is surprised to see that Thomas is just a normal guy watching cartoons on his laptop and eating pizza.
Patton gets Thomas’ attention before introducing Logan and Virgil, explaining the situation.
As the other three start talking and find it hard to come to conclusions, Virgil cuts in “Why don’t you get Death to help?”
The other three look at him confused, so he tries to explain Death, and expresses his own surprise that Death doesn’t actually exist in this afterlife universe thing.
Logan mutters that it would be much more efficient if someone like Death existed, as the angels and demons would have more time to work on other things.
“THAT’S IT!” Patton had a eureka moment, turning to Thomas. “You can make Virgil death!”
“That... actually could work,” Logan adds. “It saves us from our problem with sorting him, and it makes our and our coworkers lives a lot easier in the future. That’s a very smart idea, Patton.”
“Aww, thanks, Lo! You know, I don’t get why people don’t like demons, you’re so sweet!”
“I’m not sweet...”
Virgil smirked at the slight blush on Logan’s cheeks, but Thomas bit his lip, looking concerned.
Anyway, that’s how Virgil got himself a gig in the afterlives and a sweet apartment on the edge of the Soul Scape. Death was good.
As it was for Patton and Logan, who got paired for their new assignment, showing Virgil the ropes.
The three of them soon become good friends, even having movie nights.
Secret movie nights. The rules about demons and angels being forbidden from being friends still remained. Logan and Patton have to meet up in secret.
Then Roman arrives as Life! Of course, he starts shipping, he and Virgil deciding to set the two of them up.
So, one movie night, Logan and Patton arrive to find no movie, no Roman and Virgil, no coffee table with snacks.
Instead, a table with candles, origami napkins, a rose in the centre.
Roman and Virgil finally come in, dressed as waiters, guiding Logan and Patton to the table, sitting them down.
They proceed to be treated with a romantic dinner, that has them both flustered messes.
However, it works. At the end of it, Logan and Patton share a kiss.
Not everything’s happily ever after, however. Though they try their best to hide their new relationship, someone finds out.
That someone being the Devil himself, who swiftly informs Thomas.
They go straight to Emile and Remy’s office.
The Devil starts harassing Emile, questioning why he’d pair and demon and an angel.
Emile explains he only made them soulmates after seeing their chemistry.
Before Thomas can say anything, the Devil storms off to find Logan, furious at the demon for spending time with an angel, leading to them being paired.
Logan, Patton, Virgil and Roman are having one of their movie nights when the Devil bursts in. He threatens to remove Logan’s soul.
Since beings in the afterlife cannot die, soul removal is the closest thing. Their souls are disconnected from their form and destroyed, leaving their body as a drone, no emotions, personality, anything. Just emptiness.
Thomas is much softer. He never liked the rule against angels and demons being friends, and he can tell what Logan and Patton have is true love. He knows he won’t punish Patton, and tries to talk the Devil down from punishing Logan.
The Devil relents, deciding not to remove his soul...
And instead banishes him to the human world.
Patton is heartbroken. He may never see his Logibear again...
Meanwhile, Logan finds himself trying to stealthily traverse the human world without being seen and attacked.
Eventually, he comes across two people who could help. Their names are Joan and Talyn, two humans who are the head of their occult club at school, and are hyped to help this demon return to his world.
They both have to smuggle him into and let him stay in their apartment without letting their landlord know, and it gets close! Especially when he accidentally sets fire to the curtains.
Angel!Patton AU!! Little bits here, first day is kinda awkward (obviously lol) but Roman tries to help Patton feel comfortable by keeping conversations bubbly.
Virgil is checking Pats wing and accidentally zoned out cuz his feathers are so soft. They definitely bond over a love of animals.
Logan’s trying to hid his gay with science, asking Patton how his wings may differ from a birds, what his diets like, yada yada. Patton doesn’t usually get this much attention and loves answering any questions Logan has.
First night they set up a little nest of blankets and pillows for Patton in the living room. Patton doesn’t need to sleep but can’t say no to a cozy bundle of soft.
Quick little thing about the Angel!Patton AU. The three insist on feeding Pat something and despite Logan’s hesitance, land on cookies. Patton may or may not have laid claim to the whole box and the others can’t find it in them to take it back.
