I only vaguely remember/misremember SPN canon so can someone clear something up?

At the con in Denver for some reason Jared was answering about Castiel and Dean, I think, and reminded everyone that Cas was “junkless” as a possible point against romantic love.

Putting aside the fact that you don’t need extruded bits to romantically love someone, isn’t the idea of angels being without genitalia a reference to their true form?

It’s not like Castiel jumped into a human body and Jimmy Novak became Jimmy Nodick, right?

Lucifer fathered Jack while in a human… I think? Oh god it’s all so vague to me now.

To reiterate: you don’t need fleshy bits either penis or clitoris to be in love.

I’m just not clear on the angels.

On angel physiology.

Contrary to popular belief, angels come in a variety of shapes and forms. With some displaying the traits that one would associate with an archetypical angel, while there are others whose forms defy human understanding and imagination—whose sole perception would be enough to drive someone without protection mad.

Because of this, it is not uncommon for a higher ranking angel to take a humanoid form when attempting to make contact with mankind. Though there seems to always be one thing that they cannot conceal. Be it a plethora of limbs, eyes, heads, there is always one thing that calls back to their true form. 

They are more often than not inorganic beings when they choose to manifest, made of strange stones and metals most of the time. And when flesh appears to be present, it is synthetic and cold— a strange mockery of skin, layered (and often times WEAVED) over stone and steel. 

MICHAEL is no exception, whose body and armor seems to be made of a strange, otherworldly metal—with strong similarities to GOLD, white marble and copper. He is exceedingly heavy, and durable far beyond the boundaries of any material found on earth.

Angel Physiology

SUMMARY: Those with Angel Physiology are able to transform their body into a form similar to that of an angel. Wings form from their backs and in their angelic state, they are able to tap into peak and super human abilities.

SPECIFIC ASPECTS: (1) The user is born with tattoo-like wings on their back. (2) Their wings, white and feathered, may spread from their back at their will and grant them the ability of flight. (3) In their angelic state, users are able to reach a peak human state of super strength and speed as well as peak healing. (4) Even outside of their full angelic state, users have accelerated healing and decelerated aging.

WEAKNESSES: (1) Full transformation into an angel and full use of powers requires a lot of focus and energy. (2) Must keep focus to use their powers and can be thwarted if heavily distracted and mentally unstable. (3) Sprouting the wings from their back is often painful, though they can get used to it with frequent use. (4) Flight can take some practice to get the hang of.

MASTERY DIFFICULTY: Medium to simply fly, High for full use.
