Ash had been a bit surprised by the sudden kiss, but it took all of one millisecond to melt into it. Angel didn’t need to say it; Ash felt the love being radiated from the kiss. When Angel looked down at him with such love and affection in his eyes—again mimicking the expression Vaggie made around Charlie—it hit the fox: before all of this, Angel had just been an abrasive, innuendo-laden spider demon he happened to live in the same hotel as. Then that night on the balcony occurred, followed closely by that night in Angel’s room, both of which had irreversibly set their paths on this course. Not that Ash wished to deviate; being able to see so much more of the spider and who he really was, being able to bare his own soul to him, it was all so refreshing for both of them. As such, he returned the gaze…before a certain gruff cat’s voice groaned, “Gah, Christ, get a room, won’t ya? Actually, ya both have rooms, can’t ya do yer whole…sappy schtick there? I ain’t nearly drunk enough to see this.”
