     “Yeah I know. Meddling Elders and the whole nine yards.” She couldn’t help the scrunch of her nose at the mention of being born. “Of course you do. Well, let’s get this show on the road. We need to be done and have the kitchen clean before mom gets home.”

There it was. The out of body experience again. But something was different about this time. Everything seemed slower. It took Charlie a few seconds to get his focus, and when he found it, he freaked out. Luke and Alex were being brought in. The car accident. It was such a strange strain of deja vu he disliked greatly.All they’d been trying to do was to go away on a honeymoon. Start their life again, and this happened. Charlie ran after Alex, noting she was responsive, and then checked on his son Luke in relief that they both seemed in better condition than he was. His family was okay, that was what mattered most in this nightmare. But where was he?

 Somehow in this hustle and bustle he’d lost track of his body. Shahir had taken him away. Of course. He went to the OR and started pacing back in forth. He couldn’t leave now. Not when he knew he had a daughter on the way. He had to stay. He had to fight. But all he could feel was more detachment from his body. He knew Shahir was working hard to bring down the swelling in his brain, but it wasn’t working. Somehow it was if he was drifting on a current that was too strong to fight against. There was a blue bright light shimmering before him. A man about his height appeared in it’s sudden absence. As Charlie looked at his body on the operating table, to the man next to him he grew more confused than worried. “Can you see me?” he asked. In all the times he’d been in this seemingly in-between limbo, the people he’d interact with were like him, but this person...had appeared almost from thin air.

     Aiden knew that she shouldn’t have taken the hiding part of hide and seek so seriously. But she was a five year old with an orbing power. What reason did she have to not use it? Though she supposed getting herself into a foreign country without telling her parents. That might be reason why she was in hot water with her parents. 

   She had been sitting with a small family whose mother was a whitelighter too. She was looking after Aiden until her dad had showed up. “Daddy! You found me!” she had cheered so happily, wrapping her arms around her father’s legs. She didn’t realize then how much she made her parents worry.

    She sniffled, wiping her eyes. “I didn’t mean to scare you.” she mumbled when she was told she was in trouble. “I was just having fun. That’s all. The nice lady protected me.”
