We had #gyukatsu for #lunch today at #shinjuku #tokyo We actually ate this before, during our previous winter trip to Japan as it was recommended by my friend who lives in Tokyo. This time we found one branch that is near to our hotel! Queued about 20 minutes for it. The beef is soft and well fried. They also provided a stone grill for us to sear our beef further. After searing for a short while on the stone grill, the beef was even more fragrant!! We went all the way (from Kyoto) to Osaka just for this! I first had it on a study trip with my group mates and I wanted #zombiehusband to try as well! We ordered one set of kaiseki each. And my favourite is the raw kani! It's sweet and succulent. The texture is semi-solid but not liquid! A bit like tofu but firmer. Haha it's a complicated texture. Wanted to have something different for breakfast today and found a cafe in Porta (underground mall under Kyoto station) Weird choice of putting ketchup on my scrambled eggs. Ham was yummy! Toast was so-so. The iced coffee that came with the set was very good though. Fragrant and had a hint of roasty-ness. There was depth in the coffee flavour.
