maybe sometimes beavis feels like a plate of day-old maxi mart nachos and doesn’t even realize it. maybe kaz is just more in tune with his emotions. beavis isn’t entirely sure what would trigger him feeling like such a specific item of food, but he’ll roll with it.

a short laugh is expelled from nostrils —— not at the others expense by any means , but more so at the idea that kaz even seemed to care about the commercialized holiday to begin with. ( it's just another reason to spend more money. ) and don't even get him fucking started on sweetest day ; a day which is by far even more pointless and made up in his pessimistic point of view. ❛❛ do you really want one? guess i just don't get it. ❜❜ he supposes it's different when you're already in a relationship [ ... ] an excuse to shower your significant other with affection and love. but it's worth noting that any good person should want to do that all other three hundred and sixty four days of the year. he simply doesn't understand the appeal otherwise....

nor the urge most seem to have to quickly find another person to spend the singular day with. it was desperate. he'd rather be bitter. cigarette tucked betwixt fingers was burning quickly and a black painted thumb would flick at the filter —— allowing ash to fall. ❛❛ i mean , what's a valentine s'pposed to be , anyway? just reminds me of those little cards we had t'give out in elementary school. ❜❜ stick was brought to pierced lips for a drag that sizzled paper as his head gave a small shake. ❛❛ shit's childish. ❜❜

that’s certainly the first time in a long time he’s heard that, especially with what he can only imagine is the sound of someone who’s concerned. however, beavis doesn’t allow himself to be sad around others for many reasons that he’s unaware of, but the biggest is the fact that he avoids any shred of emotional vulnerability. it’s not just scary, but confusing and exhausting. in short, he doesn’t want to be a total bummer.

“yeah,” he shrugs, rolling a pencil back and forth on the table in front of him. “i’m just wondering when the mcrib will be back.” while that is a true statement, that’s not exactly what’s on his mind right now.

She pauses momentarily, shaking her head with one hand resting on her hips as she tries not to get more frustrated than she already is.

It went without saying things weren't EXACTLY going well, and that was only the beginning of the day thus far. Fingers run along the report before she shakes her head.

"Damn thing's wrong."

Shrugging, Adam turns to where Kaz had come in from. He doesn't really know if he'd rather have company or just be alone for the night, but the change in status appears to have not done a thing to change his mood. He'd been working a string of boring jobs all day, but the last one managed to really hammer home the monotony of the less detective-veering gigs for him of late.

Some part of him would even rather go back to the pretentious days of his short-lived photography major - even that was more interesting than what he's doing now - what he has been doing for the last few weeks.

She furrows her brow, her arms crossed over her chest. SHE'S HARDLY one to say that it's impossible, there's a distinct lack of belief in the idea that THE GOOD OF HUMANITY was a good identifier for someone's faith & willingness to believe.

The words are ones she's not totally sure she's even wanting to explore further, but if nothing else she figures she at least UNDERSTAND where they're coming from. Demons that people carried around often made their choices for them whether they liked it or not.

"Sounds pretty starry eyed, must've had a good reason to believe that if you're willing to just go on a whim and say that."

IT'S HARD to pretend like it's not admirable, but there's a moment where she strongly considers giving it a second thought, but she'd seen enough bad to know that was setting herself up for failure of the worst degree.
