I don't understand why people don't realise that the last episode said "all the timelines...all the canons...everything is canon." There is enough room for all of us to ship what we want.

I totally agree with you on the dean/amara thing. I don't get anything romantic or sexual from it. I think the writers just wouldn't go down that track. Amara has a fascination with Dean, but push comes to shove I think she would annihilate him. Amara's goal is to destroy all God created and then God? Though I am confused by Dean's reaction could it have something to do with the Mark and him being lock and key like death said?

Well, I’m not gonna go as far as saying I don’t believe the writers WOULDN’T include a romantic/sexual element to Dean and Amara at some point...

And I’m also wondering if the crux of Amara’s plot will be that she reaches the ‘push’ moment you describe and realises that in order to complete her revenge mission she DOES have to kill Dean... but when it comes to it she CAN’T, because she has come to care for him too much. OR she realises, perhaps through her desire not to kill Dean, that she in fact doesn’t want to destroy ANY of god’s creation, because she has come to care about and appreciate THE WORLD too much.

But that’s all just speculation! We’ll have to see...

Re: Dean’s behaviour. While I do think it IS partly just because Amara is a child and that makes Dean naturally feel like she is innocent and to be protected not killed/hurt, I also (atm at least!) think Dean’s towards Amara are somewhat artificial, or artificially heightened. In 11.01 he seemed OVERLY anxious to protect baby!Amara, and again his wild yelling at Crowley not to hurt her later seemed to me to be too sudden and manic an outburst to be entirely natural. So... yeah, I assume it’s something to do with the Mark... a lingering aftereffect or something, continuing to heighten his emotions maybe... idk exactly... we’ll see if the show expands on it with a clearer explanation.

(...after Charlie I, uh, I’ve become ready to expect almost ANYTHING from the writers and feel absolutely incapable of judging what they would or wouldn’t do or what they do or don’t intend (and I feel similarly about the actors’ intentions) - tbh I’ve made peace with the fact that the thoughts/feelings of the cast and crew on the story are, on the whole, a mystery to me, and I just don’t see the point, for myself personally, in wasting my time and energy speculating over what they think/feel/intend, when I’m NEVER gonna know for sure and there will always be 100s of different fans arguing alternatives which leads to arguments and upset... if I adhered to a different academic theory of interpreting fiction then it would be different, that would all be part of the game, and I could feel like differing thoughts about authorial intent could all exist side by side just as I feel about different interpretations of the text, but... ultimately it’s just come to feel to me like arguing over personal thoughts/feelings/beliefs of real living people who we don’t even know, almost like gossiping behind their backs (since a lot of such discussion descends into name-calling, like labeling people homophobic and such), and it’s really started to make me uncomfortable, so... yeah, that’s, um, all of THAT tmi you didn’t ask for or want so sorry! obviously this is personal TO ME, I understand that it is only natural, and I would say right, to, uh, analyse (I guess?) the character of real people in the public eye, since their words/actions can have influence on the world, so it’s important to call such people out if things they do, say, or write, or whatever, perpetuate harmful/problematic ideas and such, so I KNOW it’s NOT just idle gossiping and stuff, and ofc I DO generate my own opinions on various members of the cast and crew, that’s kind of unavoidable - my point is I’ve decided I don’t personally like being involved in discussion of cast/crew feelings/intent, is all!)

Hey, don't listen to that nasty anon. I thought it was one of the best dcbb's I have read so far so ignore them. I thought a cliffhanger was inspired and sense from the beginning there was a lot more to tell with this story. Aw, thanks so much!!  Honestly I expected to get some negativity about the cliffhanger going in, but it was the ending that I wanted the fic to have.  I’m really glad that you enjoyed it!!

I shall keep my chin up…only so that you can toss chocolate directly into my mouth :D.  I’m hoping to have the sequel up within the next few weeks!
