My Family As Voltron (Part 1)

This started out as being a prompt for a few different people that wanted:

Lance with anger issues.

Lance being petty

Lance labelling his food because he had a lot of siblings.

Then I thought, “wow this is me and my family” and it got me thinking about all the shit that has happened and happens all the time and thought “Hey! This will be fucking hilarious as a series, so imma do it,”

I hope you enjoy because pretty much everything (besides this fic, cuz this was really just for the prompt) is going to be straight from real life 💙

After a long tiring mission, it was always good to get a good night’s sleep and rest up for whatever was going to happen the next day. Thankfully, Allura usually gave them the next day off to recover and recuperate after the battle and the celebration the planet usually held for them. While he was down on the planet, he came across a shop that sold something that looked and smelled like Earth food and was happily given to him by the shop-keeper for an enormous discount.

Before he left he asked for a marker and wrote his name on the top, knowing that he would probably be asleep before he could eat it. He dragged himself to the kitchen and opened the fridge. Instinctively, he ducked it in the back, hidden behind all the other goods.

He trudged to his room barely able to get the armour off before he face-planted on his bed, almost instantly blacking out from exhaustion.

He blinked open his eyes around noon the next day, stretching happily as he chased the sleep out of his mind. He laid in bed for a while before finally, slipping out of bed and heading towards the kitchen, he was excited for the food he got last night and hoped that maybe it would get rid of some of the homesickness that had been hanging over him since they got to space.

He opened the fridge, parting the various bottles and containers and stopped when he didn’t see the package where he left it. He pushed the rest of the containers out of the way, eyes searching as he pulled them from the fridge and piled them on the counter. When it was nowhere to be found, he let out a deep breath and piled the containers back into the fridge and angrily slammed the door closed.

He marched over to the garbage can and stood in front of it.

“If I open this thing and that container is there, I’m gonna be so fucking pissed,” he hissed to himself, eyes glaring at the cover. He flipped up the cover and immediately his rage only heightened, his teeth ground together and his fists tightened in rage. He snatched the empty container from the trash and slammed his hand into the scanner.

He marched down to the lounge where he knew almost the entire team would be relaxing for the day. Nobody even looked up when he entered until he slammed the container into the table.

“Which one of you ate my food?” He demanded, narrowed eyes looking at each of them. Without taking her eyes off of her laptop screen, Pidge raised her hand.

“What the hell Pidge?” He growled, slamming his hands down on the table. Only then did she look up but she only quirked her eyebrow.

“Why? What’s the problem?” She huffed.

“Don’t touch my stuff!” He yelled, leaning forward across the table. She jumped leaning away just a bit. “How the hell would you feel if I started taking your stuff?”

“Look, I’m sorry,” she said rolling her eyes and turning back to her screen.

“Oh don’t give me that, no you’re not,” he huffed. Neither of them noticed the doors opening again with a hiss.

“Guys? Is everything okay? I heard yelling,” Shiro said as he walked into the lounge, eyes darting over to Lance and Pidge.

“Lance is angry that Pidge took his food or something,” Hunk told him.

“What? Lance, it’s just food,” he tried to reason, coming over to the two of them, laying his hand on Pidge’s shoulder in silent support. “You can’t get mad over a simple thing like that,”

“Oh my God, you are such an asshole,” he growled, ignoring the shocked look on both Pidge’s and Shiro’s faces. “You always take her side, or Keith’s side, you never ever take my side! That stuff had my name on it! It was mine and she took it, and just because she’s the youngest here, she gets away with it!”

“Lance, calm down,”

“DON’T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN! I am so fucking sick of being told to calm down, I am pissed right now, I thought I wouldn’t have to deal with this shit when I left home, you don’t have to deal with siblings like I have to,”

“I have a brother Lance,”

“Oh yeah, you have to deal with your fucking angel of a brother,” he deadpanned. “Fuck off, I bet he didn’t bat an eye when you stole his shit either,”

“Well, no, but why would you?”

“Because I paid for that shit! It’s mine! Not yours!” He pushed himself up to stand and walked around the table, container clutched in his hand. “I can’t be here, I am so pissed off,”

Before he left the room, he looked back at them, eyes focused on Pidge.

“If you ever take my shit again, I’m gonna take your laptop and shoot it out the airlock and you’re never going to get it back,”

Apparently his threat and freak out weren’t as effective as he thought it was.

“What the hell is wrong with you guys!?” He demanded taking in the scene before him. The rest of the paladins were on the floor in their robes, towels in their hair, and way too much off his expensive space clay masks on their faces.

“You said that we should relax with a spa day,” Hunk said, pausing in his work, covering Shiro’s face with the mask.

“Not with my stuff!” He yelled, stomping over and snatching the pot from Hunk’s hand. He peered inside as he walked over to grab the lid from the table. “God, it’s almost all gone!”

“You don’t have to get so angry Lance,”

“Well, I’d be a whole lot less angry if you had’ve just asked! Then I could have given you something that didn’t cost so much GAC! It took me forever to get enough for it and you guys wasted it!”

“I thought sharing was caring,” Keith teased, trying vainly to lift the mood.

“Yeah!” Pidge agreed with a grin.

His eyes narrowed dangerously and he got up moving to the pile of their stuff that they left when they got to the lounge.

“Oh great! Sharing is caring. Great. Just great. I guess you don’t mind then huh?” He mocked, turning around to show them Pidge’s laptop and Keith’s knife in his hands.

“Hey!” Pidge cried, jumping up from her spot on the floor and hanging onto her laptop that stubbornly wouldn’t leave Lance’s hand. “You can’t do that!”

“Why is it different from what you did? Why do you get to take my things and I don’t get to take your’s?” He asked.

“Why are you acting so childish?” She retorted. He huffed, finally letting it go, making her stumble away with it cradled in her arms.

“I’m acting childish? You guys are the ones that can’t listen to the only thing I’ve asked you to do,” he dropped the knife back on the table. “For the last time stop taking my stuff,”

“Paladins, it appears that we need to take about something,” she said at the head of the table, looking as authoritative as possible.

“Yes? What is it Princess?” Shiro asked, folding his hands on top of the table.

“I never thought that I would have to say this to a group of adults, paladins no less, but don’t take things that don’t belong to you,” they blinked before their attention went to Lance who was keeping his attention on the tabletop.

“Princess, we were ju-” Shiro tried, but only got cut off by Allura.

“There are no excuses, I expected better behaviour from you four, especially you Shiro, I didn’t think I would have to tell you not to act like children,” she scolded. At the voice, they looked down at the table in shame, choosing to stay quiet.

“I hope you’ll act wiser from now on, if it happens again, you’ll be hearing from me again,” she said before getting up and walking out but not before putting a hand on Lance’s shoulder and giving him a soft smile.

“Really? You told Allura?” Keith accused.

“Look you wouldn’t stop and we don’t have a mom on board, next best thing was Allura, and of course she agreed with me that y’all are being huge bitch babies,”

He turned to glare at each of them.

“So fucking stop it,”
