IT WAS SUCH A STRANGE INSECURITY, but something akin to having lost an extension of herself in a way. With all the danger faced in recent days, lamenting the loss of longer tresses in the nautiloid crash seemed selfish, to say the least. Even as recent as that day, Eira found herself in front of a mirror, a dagger in hand as she cut away uneven strands that hadn't been consumed in smoke and flame, unable to recognize herself with the shoulder-length do that felt far too light.
