Wille gently dragged the razor over the smooth contours of Simon’s jawline while Simon leaned against the bathroom counter, basking in the warmth of their shared shower and Wille’s undivided attention.
“I can’t believe we actually spent three days in bed.”
“Not just in bed,” Wille dipped the razor in the sink, “on the sofa, and the kitchen table, and against the…Hey, hold still,” he huffed fondly as Simon giggled, “don’t smile.”
“So don’t make me smile,” Simon opened his eyes, dark and sparkling and playful. He’d been in an exceptionally good mood since his reconciliation with Ayub and their return home from Bjärstad. Wille had loved every minute of it.

Thinking of that kiss prompt list you reblogged- kiss where time is running out ((I forget the number 😭)) with Dew and aeth? I like to hurt :]
Oh Anon. First, I’m sorry. It’s sad but this one needed to get out of my brain. It had to be them though. CW: mild angst. Might need a tissue.
#38 Aether x Dew
…because they’re running out of time
He can hear the soft tick, tick, tick of the clock on the wall. The curse of ghoulish hearing. He can’t escape it.
Tick
With each tick, another second of the time they have left passes and he flinches involuntarily. Knows what’s coming is going to be the hardest thing he’s ever had to do. Knows it is happening and he can’t stop it.
Knows it’s going to hurt more than anything he’s ever experienced.
Tick
The new summon will be arriving soon. That’s when it will happen.
Tick
He looks at the beautiful ghoul wrapped tight in his arms. Gazes at this face, ethereal in sleep, soft expression that doesn’t come close to match the despair he feels. He’s glad for this moment, for all of the moments that proceeded it, wouldn’t trade them for anything. But he has to say goodbye soon. Has to let him go.
Tick
Dew stirs, eyes cracking open, the tiniest hint of blue still visible amid the warm golden pools that catch the light in such a pretty way. He’ll miss that the most. He studies every minute detail - not that he doesn’t know it by heart by now - committing it to memory. Knowing it has to last.
Tick
Dew smiles for a moment, then realization hits, his whole face falling, and pushes up to meet Aether, pressing their lips together in a warm kiss. Deepening it as he brings his hand to caress Aether’s face. His thumb rubbing across his cheekbone, wiping away a tear.
He cradles Dew’s face between his hands and kisses him back with a fervor of a starved man.
And maybe he is, maybe he’s kissing Dew as if it were for the last time, and maybe it is.
Tick
The knock on the door is soft, but it sounds like the apocalypse in their safe space, the voice on the other side booming.
“It’s time to go, Aether.”

chapter 10: betting blind, pt.2
He doesn’t know why. He’s sure he’ll be reflecting on it later, but every objection his mind can raise falls silent in the face of his footsteps, as he walks past the water cooler and over the makeshift bridge and into the drafty, unfinished construction site. There are sniffles, coming from somewhere. Mumbling, too. Ekko walks softly, though not so soft to be silent, and stops, sliding his hands into his pockets.
“What happened?”
Powder crumples in on herself further, breaths raggedy. “Fuck off, Ekko.”

It's the first Solstice after Sabrina was risen from the dead. The first Solstice without Nick. In the midst of her tears and sorrow she accidentally conjures him, which leads to a tradition they do year after year. Every Solstice, for 24 hours, Sabrina can call upon her love Nicholas Scratch and they can be together. Only on this one day a year can they touch each other, and they make it count. In classic Nick and Sabrina fashion each year isn't perfect but it doesn't matter what happens, they'll always love each other.
Sabrina and Nick during Solstice through the years. Its the only time they really get to see each other without Sabrina putting herself in danger. And its the only way they can touch each other. For 24 hours each year they can hold each other and wipe their tears and kiss each others smile. Sabrina just hopes it lasts.
