“I feel so hollow,” Vanya looked down at her own hands. “And yet I feel everything.” She knew it made no sense. The other probably figured she was babbling and confused. But Number Seven could feel the heartbeat of all sentient beings on her less stable days. The cadences pounding so loudly in her skull. All those years, thinking she was plain and ordinary. All those long hours separated from her siblings in the dank and dusty basement of the manor, wondering what sort of sickness she could possibly have which required her to be quarantined. Now Vanya was unhinged, and had no idea how to process or handle this new version of herself. Her only saving grace was the steady vibration of The Remedy’s pulse, even after she had let go. “Althea...I’m scared.”
