Poor Gravelpaw had it tough growing up. Soon after becoming an apprentice, he defended himself from a fox attack but dislocated most of his tail bones and broke some in the process. Gravelpaw had an infection for a few moons which delayed his training. He felt that he had little to give to his clan while he waited to heal, so he turned to the dark side of the clan's kin. Once he was healed (minus a permanently bent tail tip) Gravelpaw worked hard to earn his warrior name: Gravelmound. He struggles with not feeling good enough for his clan.
He was found as an abandoned kit by Weedtuft near the borders of Podclan and Shrikeclan. Shrikeclan is unaware that Gravelpaw is actually Weedtuft's and a Podclan warrior's son.
