Odisha road mishap: Angul MLA injured, driver killed

Former minister and BJD MLA from Angul, Rajnikant Singh has been injured in a road mishap near Rasol in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district today, reports said.
Singh has sustained injuries on his face, his driver has been killed on the spot.The mishap took place on Cuttack-Sambalpur road at around 9.30 pm while the legislator was returning home from Bhubaneswar.
Reports said Singh’s vehicle hit an electric pole on the roadside while allowing a vehicle coming from the opposite direction to pass. Singh has been admitted to the government hospital at Hindol.
The driver, identified as Ratikant Paramguru (44) of Kanasa area in Puri, was killed on the spot, the MLA sustained injuries on his face. After getting information about the incident, Fire personnel and police reached the spot and rescued Singh. He was rushed to Hindol hospital and later shifted to Bhubaneswar for better treatment. Doctor stated his condition is stable now.
