I am suspicious of calling male on male mating in arthropods "accidental or mistaken" when it could be a case of just dont care , like we see in the most degenerate ducks and penguins.

Jumping spiders, after seeing one do a mating dance to and try to mate with a dead female, i wonder if despite their curiosity and intelligence they may noy understand death
