Diavolo trying to Court Lucifer FT. Demon mating ritual/courting HCS

The idea of a quite recently made demon/ex angel. not understanding the underlining natures of true born demons is something I don't really think is really touched upon.

while by definition, Lucifer and brothers are now considered demon , very powerful ones in that - I would consider them distinctly different to true born demons, which are ofc demons Born as a demon/ A demon created in Devildom. (you can almost be endless on different types of demons, but for now - lets focus on two) now the genetic make up of the brothers aren't really much different to a true born but I could think of differences (reminder, these are HCs)

first, and most obvious, behaviours - Diavolo for example is more "open" and "true" for his demonic tendancies and is almost unforgiving by his demonic nature - as I would think demons doing immoral things such as for example killing someone was something of a normalcy in devildom

for Diavolo, he has no issues with using his abilities as a demon and a royal to take advantage of someone or something, if he has to

however, for Diavolo specifically, him taking advantage of others is something he prefers not to do, (or rather, he doesn't have to ask for, since he's a royal)

for the brothers, while they do "sin" they are less open to doing so (at least at first) due to being an originally Angels, it takes a while for their moral compass to shift.

this is not to say, as angels - they didn't do bad things of course :)

I could, go on on - but the point is - the brothers being ex angels, makes them different in terms of culture and normalcy they were created on - normalcy and cultural aspects within Devildom, could be completely unknown and alien to them. so things such as instincts a usual demon would have - isn't something that occurs to them.

Lucifer has been noticing some odd behaviours from lord Diavolo, and its kind of freaking him out a little

he isn't sure how to act or respond to this odd behaviour from Diavolo... but he's really trying to be professional..

for instance, he's been giving him really lavish gifts, like REAL REAL posh gifts for him

just last week Diavolo gifted him an at least a 10,000 dollar pure gold custom made watch, with angel like wings as decoration within the inside of the watch.. it was supposely made from the very same gold that dazzles lord Diavolo's body..

it wasn't his birthday any time soon or in the has been yet.. nor any holidays he could think of.. so it was a bit out of nowhere..

and just a few days ago he got Lucifer a new golden brooch to put on his suit. once again adorned in red jewels that matched Diavolo's.

this has at least been going on for a month now, on weekly new gifts, one more expensive than the last.

a new custom pen, classes, study desk, rare books, even artifacts...

throughout this past month, Diavolo has been undergoing weird habits as well.

for instance, every time he approaches or even sees Lucifer, he's always brushing up against Him, nudging his side playfully, hand gliding slowly over his shoulder, even brushing his lips along his pale hands and the shell of his ear.

this behaviour in particular is a rather new behaviour.. as he started doing it only a couple of weeks ago. since then, barb's face seemed to turn in an odd expression everytime he arrives at the castle, even his brothers (particularly mammon) mistaking Lucifer for Diavolo, or complaining about a strong scent in the air.. that seemed to distress his brothers alot as the days went by.

another behaviour he's been noticing, alot as of the last week, is Diavolo's tendancy to arch his wings long and wide, for periods of time, and often walking around Lucifer - as he went on about random things about duties.

Diavolo's wings seem to flutter in timed motions, like some kind of unconscious show or display that Lucifer had no idea he was attending, 24/7 hours of the day

sometimes, Lucifer would glance at this odd display as Diavolo talked, the display made sure the golden tips of his wings glimmered and the size of his wings arched and very much seen.

Lucifer started noticing such displays when he realized how odd it was - when upon locking contact with Lucifer, every, single, time - his wings seemed to slowly rise to life in display.

with no idea what these odd displays could mean, Lucifer would eventually turn to Barbatos for answer

and with a soft chuckle from Barb, and Lucifer's frown. Barb sighed

" it seems the young master is trying to Court you, Lucifer"

As Lucifer's face curls in confusion and eventual red in blush. Barbatos would explain:

when a Demon choses a possible mate, they undergo a long series of motions and acts to impress this mate, through aspects most important to a demon

Diavolo's first act: gift giving is his display of wealth and therefore reliability as a mate - he is able to provide more than enough conditions and comfortableness for his mate and eventual offspring

with Lucifer happily accepting these gifts, Diavolo goes to his next step - scenting

now seeing Lucifer is interested, he starts to make "reservations" if you will of his interest in being Lucifer's mate - so he brushes up against Lucifer, touching him as often as possible to rub a special scent made from demons specifically for mating.

in the case of Diavolo, his scent is especially strong due to his dominance being from Royal blood

thats why his scent is the most strong and therefore overwhelming to other, lower demons.

succesfully scenting Lucifer, Diavolo goes onto display his body, specifically his wings

for demons, a display of ones wings or horns is somewhat of a beauty standard within Devildom.

this bit is ment to interest the mate in finally choosing the him

by displaying how large he is through the wingspan of his wings as well as their beauty..

"so, what's next?" Lucifer said sternly..

Barb smirks "well if my estimations are correct, the young master will try and mate with you... when the time is right. he will release pheromones, indicating his readiness to mate. "

Lucifer with a beet red face, curls his wings and stumbles to his feet, getting some air.. to really process what's going on. After all..

it's only a matter of time before the Prince of Devildom lays claim to his Dove..

You should definitely ask them to be your mate, someday. You went through so much together and your love is something special.

On that note...what exactly changes when you're mated? Is there a special "ritual" for it, like a wedding?

I will ask someday if we’re as compatible as I believe we are, it would be very nice to finally take a mate of my own and to spend the rest of our existence’s together

You wish to know about mating rituals?? Very well then, it’s been a while since I’ve explained this to another being so forgive me if anything doesn’t make to much sense-

At times, when an angel decides to mate but doesn’t have anyone, they’ll call out for a mate in the form of a song. I cannot really describe properly how it sounds but think of a warm fuzzy feeling

But in other cases, such as mine, when a couple is ready to mate they’ll first do a general display of themself. Showing that they’re capable of providing for a mate and showing their strength

If that goes well, next is a flight. The two will typically go for as long as possible, seeing if they properly sync up in flight. More of a compatibility test

Lastly is a dance, this is the most romantic part of this ritual and always the part that makes me blush thinking of if I did this with V1. This part is mostly to seal the deal, but it also acts as a example of how the couple works better together as a unit

At any part of this process either party is able to drop out and deny the mate, it tends to be a bit awkward if this happens but it’s handled well and civilly.

But if all parts go well, the pair will mark each other. They leave mating marks on each other that stay there for life, this is done by uh… biting each other-

Anyway-

their scents will either mix together or one member of the couple will adopt the scent of the other.

Since I am no longer bound my heavens standards of sin and such I will be taking the liberty of adding a step to this process
