SVSSS || Cat Peak Lords AU #01

Having seen many au's in which Shen Yuan is Shen Jiu's cat, I present to you the exact opposite.

The PIDW peak lords being reborn as Shen Yuan's pets in the modern world.

Shen Jiu opens his eyes to heavy rain falling down at him, in the body of a mere cat and dirty all over.

He wakes his eyes to kids throwing stones at him, calling him cursed do to the color of his fur.

He wakes to a young boy placing his body between his attackers and him, protecting the pest he had been born as.

When the boy looks at him what feels like hours after, bruises decorating his features and yet wearing a bright smile he finds himself unable to argue when little Shen Yuan picks him up and into his arms.

He is the only one by little A-Yuan's side for a long time. The only one that sticks together, who keeps his company even trapped between four walls even when the kids other family members end up having to leave.

For a long time, he remains on the defensive each time anyone comes close, even the foolish little thing that had let Shen Jiu into his house. For a while, he uses his claws and finds something akin to delight each time he sees the dark red lines on the boy's arms, the way that he is able to defend himself still no matter how small (he ignored the way that when the boy looks at him, a smile enough to light up the whole world and tears in his eyes, it makes something within Shen Jiu ache.)

It is hard not to grow protective of the little thing, not when he was willing to foolishly use his sickly body as a shield for a mere animal like Shen Jiu.

So he protects him as much as he can, and for once more, he finds himself growing irritated by just how powerless he is as he watches the young boy slowly fade away.

It is only a couple years later that Shen Jiu returns with another little thing in his arms, this time a bunny, one that he recognises as YQY almost immediately.

And then a hamster. Who he is quick to realise carries the soul of the rat of a traitor (he decides that the little look fits him, and is delighted that he can terrorize him however he likes.)

Next one turns out to be LQG.

And the next QQQ.

Soon enough, there are 12 of them.

All 12 of the peaklords, having reborn as mere animals, gathered under the same roof once more.

There isn't much that they agree on, there never had been, but all of them are quick to agree that they are willing to do anything for the boy that took them into his house and saved them in this life time.
