it’s legal to farm and breed tigers for circuses in italy. probably in other european countries too.
“better and smarter, progressive western world”, huh?
there’s nothing cute or adorable about videos showing exotic baby animals owned by idiots.
just saw a bald eagle parent bringing in a domestic kitten to the nest. this is exactly why cats belong indoors.
you can’t blame an eagle because eagles are opportunists, they spot a prey, they catch it.
you obviously can’t blame a kitten for being where it's not supposed to be.
you can only blame people. current owners if it was a kitten that was left to roam outside. some people in the past that let their cats roam, run away and which weren’t fixed so they produced stray cats.
and it can’t be explained with "it's just nature" because domestic cats are not a part of nature's cycle. it can’t be respected like raptors catching small fox kittens or cute squirrels or taking owlets. a domestic cat should never been in a position to be taken away by a wild animal which world it's not a part of.
whenever i see “please donate for my cat’s surgery, it was hit by a car” i want to donate all the money i have and then take the cat away because why the fuck did you allow a situation in which your cat could be hit by a car? why did you let it roam where there’s traffic? do you think you’re a responsible owner if you let your cat go where it’s dangerous because it’s ~natural~for cats to roam?
fuck you. it’s your fault your cat is suffering now. you don’t deserve it.
whenever i see or hear that someone bought a cat or a dog when there are thousands waiting in shelters, most of which are killed because idiots prefer to feed animals manufacturers, otherwise known as breeders, instead of giving a loving home to poor ones in cages, a knife opens in my pocket.
i don't understand how killing animals for fun is a sport. it's not even to regulate population, it's just some fucked up tradition. and whenever i see anything about legal hunting i think: why don't we set loose some most awful criminals - children rapists, mass murderers, etc, and hunt them? less scum and fun for those who find disgusting pleasure in killing innocent, terrified animals. why won’t they do that to humans who actually deserve such thing happening to them.
