Fandom Problem #11,213:
I wish people didn't hear "30s-inspired" and "animation" in the same sentence and only exclusively think of rubber hose style. (Especially with the popularity of Cuphead and BATM).

The piece of shit in question is the season finale for my indie animated series.
So like this project has been in the works for over a year (I started it back in October of LAST YEAR)
And it's not even halfway done.
It's about 9 minutes long and I just reached the 2 minute mark TODAY.
A part of me just wants to give up on it since it just doesn't reach that big of an audience compared to stuff with an already existing fan base, and I know people aren't gonna stick around for it.
And I don't know how to keep it going. I want the episode done now but I don't have motivation to work on it but I want it done so I work on it.
I'm just stuck.
Babe, I am imagining so many animations and animatics outside of my skill level inside my head right now you have no idea.
Me watching a 10 minute long, fully animated piece done by a team of animators, which took months to do: oh god, I'll never, as a singular artist, that doesn't work on collabs, etc, be as good as this. I should just quit now
Part 1, read the part 2 here
Professional Animators: "We can't draw on an iPad! That screen is too tiny!"
