Kadokawa has announced that a sequel has been greenlit during the Deep In Abyss Narrator event held in Tokyo today (26/11), at the Congres Square Nihonbashi, alongside the promo trailer you see above

Now while we don't know when the sequel will be out (or even if it will be done again by Kinema Citrus), if we go by production speed it might be out during Fall 2018 (Oct - Dec), though if the studio pushes it then maybe, just maybe Summer 2018 (Jul - Sep)
