Seeing Vampire Knight shipping discourse attacking Zeki fans in 2026 is so jarring.

Like I read that shit in 2007/8. It and Shugo Chara were my two shipping anime at the time(Amuto and Zeki). But when both ended I thought that was the end.

Now I've seen a revival of both on tumblr and it's so weird not being a teen obsessing on them anymore lol. Especially with the shipping war revival.

I find it hilarious people call me a homophobe because I'm a canon purist/don't like destroying canon.

Who remembers .hack// SIGN? The whole Tsukasa as a male in the game world realizes he's a girl in the real world and Subaru doesn't give a shit and loved him/her anyway and the two got together at the end when he/she was finally able to logout?

One of your most blatant gay canon anime ships that was a beautiful ending to a wonderfully complex and in depth anime.

By the way, this one actually aired on TV in America back in 2004 dubbed.

Uh, to my last reblog. I just realized what the ending of that sounded like so..

I read To Love Ru THE ORIGINAL. I did not read Darkness, because Darkness added Momo, Lala's kid sister and then it got weird so I Noped out of it.

Just like I read Usagi Drop when it first came out, and was one of the many readers that were crushed by the end chapters and looked at the author like WTF dude? OH and Rosario Vampire! Both of those had endings where I regretted picking up the manga to end like that.

Usagi Drop instead of going with her childhood friend like you were led to believe the author has her marry her adopted dad, and took a cute manga about found family and turned it into wtfWHY and Rosario Vampire took a really in-depth complex really good story and made it "oh yeah the outer Moka has been her mother this entire time, and the male lead fell in love with the mother lol" T_T

I saw this post on r/writing asking what type of character immedialty makes you drop the book or media and not go back.

And my answer? Charlotte.

I dropped it the very first episode because it has that damn 'self-proclaimed do-gooder not authority but gets into others business like they are the authority,' trope and the MC just let's them and the anime makes it the right decision.

Was Yuu a dick, cheat, and all around bad person? Yes. Was cheating on exams, wooing the girl with his abilities, and conning his way in life wrong? Totally.

But it was none of Nao or her groups business.

They barge into his life, blackmail him to join them or else. Get him dumped and destroy his life just for their own reasons.

And the anime makes this a good thing.

Yes, the guy was a scumbag, but it's not the job of the random group and overly assertive girl to go mess up every scumbags life.

I really really hate that trope and those types of people outside of media too. The policing type who think it's their god given appointment to tell a person what to do.
