ANIME NYC RETURNS IN THE DOG DAYS OF SUMMER ⛱️

ANIME NYC said goodbye to the cool Fall season and said hello to the sweltering days of summer with a Public Service Announcement days before the convention...... DEODORANT!!

This year ANIME NYC had full use of all the space Jacob Javitz Center had to offer,so no more being squeezed into the left portion and stepping on each other's feet,with the additional space the convention was able to spread the vendor more evenly,with lesser known on the right side, Crunchyroll and friends with the larger booths onto your left.

The Autograph Zone was large with plenty of room for attendees to enter and everything was displayed with large lettering making it easier for you to see.

ANIME NYC also provided cosplayers their own background set for their photos.

Although I am not big into Anime,the only series I watched was Fullmetal Alchemist and that was many,many years ago but I have been a big fan of Godzilla since I was a child.

So,it was good to see some vendors with Godzilla items for sale.

PLAY NYC due to rising prices with venues collaborated with ANIME NYC this year and had a smaller (less vendors than last year) showing of game developers in the gaming area (downstairs) but attendees were still there interacting with what was available.

I will be attending this year just for one day, I went for the first inaugural in 2017 and 2018.

Back than only half of the Javitz Center was utilized,carpet was removed which made it even worst for walking and standing around.

It also had more of a "flea market" type vibe than a "convention" but since it was their very first Anime NYC after parting ways with ReedPOP (NYCC)many years ago,expectations on my part was low.

But,when they announced that the FULL use of Javitz Center would be available for 2024, moving the date to the end of summer and starting the convention earlier.

This seemed like a good enough excuse to return to Anime NYC and see how much it has grown,and now with the help of Japan Society this should make the experience better this year.
