okay but for real i love what rachel's and cassie's reactions to overhearing jeremy jason's conversation with visser three says about each of them. rachel is quick to turn against someone if she catches even the slightest whiff of them being deceitful, while cassie still clings onto a little bit of a hope to try to convince herself that maybe they aren't that bad. she's willing to give people more chances than maybe she should. rachel is much less forgiving.

so they use both "demorph" and "morph out" in this book. i wonder when (or if?) they finally drop "morph out" as a phrase.

i forgot this one also had a terrible ant experience. does applegate just hate ants?

The fact that Elfangor's first Dome ship is called StarSword rather than StarBlade implies that Andalites either have swords or obsevered another species using them and admired this greatly. Which... like... why?

I feel good about most of their designs but I'm especially happy with Cassie and Marco. and Tobias's Kurt Cobain vibe. Ax is uncomfortably pretty but that's his literal description so...

I’m reflecting on how Elfangor was called back to duty because he’s this extraordinarily gifted and irreplaceable warrior.  But the only real battle we see him fight after that consists of “I WILL FLY MY SPACESHIP INTO HIS SPACESHIP”.

Big SCOOP POST!

So it started with this sketch, it was gonna just remain here... and it was inspired by the description in the Breaking and Entering series of fanfics... but then I started thinking about it more and decided to go of the very sparse book references and make it look like the same universe as my fighter designs below we have a mood board of inspiration for the scoop and surrounding landscape.

These are my favorite ideas for the shape of the lodge with a description from the andalite chronicles (in hork-bajir chronicles they use a cloth, but i figure that has more to do with it not being on homeworld.) I like middle one best.

And I have color keys for different pallets I like for the homeworld. I'm going to do a final illustration with breakdowns next, once I choose.

Sometimes when I am sad, I go to 47:15 in this video and watch him sing a small sample of the bonkers, out-of-left-field subplots in Animorphs to the tune of Modern Major General. And then I am less sad.

Did they resolve the whole "Marco and his dad died" part post war. Given how famous Marco got it was obviously cleared up. And his mum too I guess.

I had the only Animorphs dream I can remember in 25 years of being a fan. I was talking with Cassie about how we have to elect an insurance policy this week because it's open enrollment time for our company. We agreed to have the same conversation tomorrow because neither of us would get around to it today. In conclusion, my subconscious is deeply disappointing and being an adult is boring.

(I am aware that access to healthcare is, barbarically, a privilege in America and I'm definitely not complaining about having that access.)
