ok i’m reading animorphs for the first time and the scene where jake+tobias are trying to get the campers to move is so good??? like they’ve been fighting the yeerks for awhile at this point and they’ve all had to get pretty confident but at the same time jake still lives as a human kid and i love that that was shown in the way he got rly nervous when getting scolded by richard. like he’s used to fighting the yeerks and being the leader of the animorphs, which is also why he was the one originally speaking not tobias, but he’s also not used to standing up to and commanding adults, especially normal adults. tobias though, who has been living as a bird for awhile now, has stepped outside of that type of human culture and had an easier time standing up to his authority. i love that character detail!!! it keeps coming back to they r just kids!!!
