Gwyn huffed and started giving the boy a cold shoulder. He could sense the presence in him. It was older than a demon, but something just as revolting.

He hissed a little when the cloth was pressed up against the cut on his arm. But it was nothing to the pain of falling from grace, nothing compared to the days when he didn’t want to get out of bed because his back burned with the ghostly agony of wings long ruined and only pulled out for spectacle. The hiss didn’t linger, but he didn’t resist.

His hand reached up to place his fingers gingerly over the mess of blood. The memory of being mugged- God, a creature of grace and beauty such as he mugged like a lowly beast bearing the unknowable riches of 20$ -was too tender, too fresh. The monster of mortal flesh had made off with what was going to be a moment of treating himself with a mockery of the same spectacle and wonder he so fondly remembered and yearned for like one dying of thirst begged for water, and he had no way of knowing where they went.

Just that he was against a brick wall, short 20$, bleeding red blood like the fragile, pathetic thing he was, and this boy tainted by a monster with no name was the only one who would spare pity and sympathy for him.

Shame and pride silenced him. He let the boy tend to his wounds, but had no reason to offer him anything more than stiff compliance.
